Happy Draft day! First of all, want to thank you all for making draft season enjoyable. We may have had some different viewpoints, but we all took the time and effort to make our own opinions.

Some quick draft day thoughts:

-I think taking a 1st rd Offensive Lineman is a total smokescreen. He have heard very little about interest from them the entire offseason targeting OL.

-I stick by what Tony Pauline stated at the Senior Bowl, they are targeting a high wide receiver and defensive lineman that impact their run game. Pauline has always had the best sources inside the league. He has Golden in his final mock and even said, if not WR, they are taking a defensive lineman.

-Jane Slater mentioned that they are looking for speed on offense, where Golden/Tuten both could be in play. However, McShay reported that his sources said the Cowboys have T-Mac as a top 10 player on their stack.

-Truly believe the Cowboys want to bail out of their pick. They mentioned in the press conference, they really like the depth in the class and we already know they traded away their 4th rd selection. Perhaps, they find a small trade back and still land Golden or take a player like Ebuka who reportedly has been getting high grades on his character throughout his visits. Colts, Denver, LA Chargers all might be looking to trade up. If they move back into the 20's, then all options are open.

-What I am hearing is Mykell Williams,Walker, Nolen and T-Mac all go inside the top 10. Will a Graham or another high projected player fall outside the top 11?

-Think James Pearce could very much be in play at 44. You know who this team operates, a 1st rd talent falls to the 2nd rd. Although, keep hearing Schott wants players who love the game.

Pearce at 44 is a dream. I think he slides but don’t think he last that long.

My gut tells me the board gets wiped, they are unable to move down and are forced to draft Mykel Williams.

I think Williams goes inside the top 10.

Good post. Exciting to see the day finally come!

I think you're right--it's WR or DL in round one; OL interest is chum in the water to get someone to trade up.

To go further, I think if Tet is there, the take him (while still entertaining trade down). And if Tet isn't there, and no top prospect fell, they will take just about anything to trade down.

My feeling is that we will end up trading down, as anyone who wants Tet knows where his floor is and move ahead of us, and taking Egbuka after missing on Golden. Our WR coach has a strong connection to him, he is the epitome of the 'loves football' character that Schotty prizes, and he can do a lot for this offense.

In that scenario, think we then use our first second round pick like a lottery ticket to grab any player that is highest on our board.

I’m doing cartwheels if we are able to trade down and get Egbuka

The draft rarely goes like mocks and what the experts think. Williams and Tet going top 10 would surely represent that. Let’s get us a playmaker today please!

I have T-Mac rated the highest, but would be fine with another receiver if it meant another pick involved. Egbuka might not have the explosiveness we want, but checks all the other boxes.

He is an excellent fit for the new offense were are reportedly implementing that is similar to the Rams scheme. Think a player like Kupp, strong route runner, good inline blocker for the position that this scheme calls for. Always been a #2 receiver and will do all the dirty work.

- If Sanders really gets past 9 it will be interesting to see how far he tumbles. Some analysts had him rated higher than Ward couple months ago.

- How do teams view Walker? He’s a player but a tweener. Who thinks they have a way to use him?

- There’s a triumvirate of squirrellines that could start at pick 5. Those three consecutive selections could set an early tone.

- The Bears at ten will get a good pick that will be the product of the fallout of what happens in front of them.

- Teams have been keeping their thoughts on TMc close to the vest. He’s highly thought of and off the board before the Cowboys selection.

- Pick 11 this year may be the start of no man’s land. You’ll get a good player here but you most likely don’t get the value in the player for picking that high. Most in this room want to move back. Don’t know if it’s a good thing that the rest of the league knows this as well.

- I’m curious to see where DE’s end up cuz they’ve been all over the map. Does Stewart, Nolan, or Pearce make it two round 2?

As always enjoy the draft season dialogue Cowboy! Always good stuff.

-I think taking a 1st rd Offensive Lineman is a total smokescreen. He have heard very little about interest from them the entire offseason targeting OL. - I hope you’re right. I think we’ve agreed it would be an overkill of resources to go OL at 12 unless it’s clear cut BPA by a mile.

-I stick by what Tony Pauline stated at the Senior Bowl, they are targeting a high wide receiver and defensive lineman that impact their run game. Pauline has always had the best sources inside the league. He has Golden in his final mock and even said, if not WR, they are taking a defensive lineman. - WR / NT would best case scenario IMO. Interested to see how the board falls on round 2.

-Jane Slater mentioned that they are looking for speed on offense, where Golden/Tuten both could be in play. However, McShay reported that his sources said the Cowboys have T-Mac as a top 10 player on their stack.- I have Tet comfortably over Golden…but i’m a trade down Golden in the 1st and Thuten in the 3rd would be awesome to give us some more juice.

-Truly believe the Cowboys want to bail out of their pick. They mentioned in the press conference, they really like the depth in the class and we already know they traded away their 4th rd selection. -What I am hearing is Mykell Williams,Walker, Nolen and T-Mac all go inside the top 10. Will a Graham or another high projected player fall outside the top 11? - Wouldn’t be shocked. Graham is a little small and has short arms. Some teams will have him much lower than the consensus.

-Think James Pearce could very much be in play at 44. You know who this team operates, a 1st rd talent falls to the 2nd rd. Although, keep hearing Schott wants players who love the game.- Schotty seems to be huge on character and loving football. Wonder if he dodged that kind of player?

Agree that its dline or wr and I am fine with either. I also don't want an OL.

Definitely think a trade back is desired...but finding a partner will be hard imo.

if williams, tet, Nolan and walker are all gone in top 10, that'd be crazy.

If they move back into the 20's, I think all options would be on the table, including OL, but just cannot see them using the pick at 12 at that positional group.

I hope the Jets don't grab a TE, that could reduce Dallas' chances of trading back

Good points

My picks in terms of what Cowboys are thinking at 12 in order

1. Tet is the pick if he is there
2. Mykiel Williams is the pick if Tet is gone
3. Trade down if both are gone
4. Golden is the pick if 1-3 above cant be achieved

This is what i think Cowboys will do
