Even if the pick is good, the pick is bad.

We go up against a set of elite interior defenders across the NFC East.

It’s too bad you think interior oline is worthless
To be fair about that, dallas had a good Oline while the rest of the division was going thru growing pains, way before the defenders got there.

And oline is worthless since dak has proven he can't even win with a good oline the years we had it.

In a nut shell, the guy couldn't win with a good Oline, with the divisions worse year(s).

So now all of a sudden the talent has finally caught up with the commanders, eagles and giants, and now you want to make that statement?

We have already seen the cowboys do the Oline craziness to the point of having one of the best Olines at one point, with nothing to show for.

Oline will not help the QB we currently have behind center. Fans saying we need oline must have not gotten the memo regarding the previous years.

So are we just accepting building yet another oline for Dak, one and done in the playoffs, if not miss the playoffs, and then the whole oline is gone in 4 years or so.......and then the cowboys draft another olinemen in the first again just to start the shenanigans all over again?

Are we going to continue to convince our selves that oline is a need in order to make ourselves feel good about the situation?

Some of you are insufferable.
FYI - There’s a new coaching staff on board. With a new philosophy. All of the playoff teams last year had a good running game.

Some just like to complain I guess.

it is pragmatic
you build your team to win your division
our division has some really nasty DL
so you have to have a very good or better OL

rebuilding a team is a step by step process and this was just one

true So I'm going to take it a step further no it won't be settled tonight let's wake up Tuesday morning and have a full look at the entire moves they made between last night and Tuesday morning.... I believe they're going to satisfy at least the larger majority of the fan base with undrafted free agents the rest of the draft a free agent a trade there's things in the works they have a plan it started last night i'm willing to give them a little bit of time to get it done...
Think George Picket as reported? Hang in their and see where they go. No one will ever be happy with the picks till they are.

Don't necessarily think you need to pin it on the name that's being mentioned but the position they probably are they mentioned Breece Hall that doesn't mean that's who they end up with but that means they're shopping they're looking at wide receiver and running back to help bolster the roster but that doesn't mean they're not picking any tonight and tomorrow..

But sure I think most of this stuff is gonna happen after the draft because that's when teams are gonna be looking to look at what they drafted and try to move players I don't wanna pay next year or they don't want on their roster anymore and we're gonna see a lot more of those drop this week during the week after the draft after the undrafted free agents are signed there's gonna be a lot more movement...

I mean that's about the same time they brought over Brandon Cooks and Gilmore each with a 5th round pick it's not a long term solution but it'll help until the draft picks come along..

The entire eagles dline was drafted in the past three years.

I don’t think their fans are saying “isn’t that enough”?
Oh they would be......if they hadnt wont a superbowl...but they did.....that organization gets it....especially rebuilding a SB team within 5 years when jerry cant do it in 30+......

Whether you, I or anyone else likes it or not.. Dak isn't going anywhere.. you cant even trade him.

So I get the pick..
yea you can...if DAK agrees to it....with that contract though jerry is out of his league since he gave DAK that unreal deal....it would take a real smart GM......unless forbes is the only category that matters...

It's the NFL draft version of Schrodingers cat.

The Eagles are the masters of OLine play...they're right in our own division, and we STILL can't learn from them.

They would never take a guard with a top 15 pick. I doubt they'd take a guard with a pick in the 20s, unless he had tackle flexibility.
Being the trivia and stat nerd that I am, I looked this up under Jeff Lurie's ownership, which began in 1994. The Eagles have never drafted a guard with a top 15 pick. With later 1st round picks, they drafted RG Jermaine Mayberry, who carved out a solid if unspectacular career. They drafted RG Shawn Andrews, who made two PB's and 1st team AP, injured his back and missed almost two seasons, and had a failed comeback with the Giants. He only played four full seasons, but without the injury was a stone cold stud. The other guy was RG Danny Watkins, a player so bad that calling him a JAG is an insult to JAG's.

So yes, during the Jeff Lurie era, the Eagles never drafted a guard at 15 or higher. To be fair, Shawn Andrews was picked at 16, and if the Eagles were drafting at 15 they would have taken him anyway. The dude was legit.

What? I’m talking about right now. Both Giants and Eagles spent first round picks on interior defense and pass rush.

So yeah. While Guard wasn’t my first choice, I’m ok with it

Well there is a very good argument to be made that they didn't have to move down to get someone worthwhile. Golden was there, Ebuka was there.
And heck, how bad was Houston's trade offer cuz if they would of offered a 7th rounder to move up, we could of still gotten Booker at Houston's spot.
Oh well, we got a guy that is good and we can use, but people need to lay off the whole "it's all we could do"
Golden wasn't worth a top 15 pick. Not with the production he had in college.

Strong but kind of a reach.
Very similar to how people felt about Travis Frederick on draft day. Good player, but didn't seem like we got good value on the draft position.

Lets hope it turns out the same, except for the weird disease.
Booker has been projected to be taken by us, Bengals, or Seahawks for well over a month. He went around where he was projected to go. It wasn't a reach at all.

You guys have really got to start focusing on the context of a draft rather than keying in on one position. There were offensive line players flying off the board - 5 OL players went in the top 20. Booker was not going to be there in the second, the next two best guards also weren't going to be there in the second. That means we leave the draft with a hole on our offensive line.

A few positions became bigger priorities in the draft due to other positions being weak.

We aren’t winning anything with Dak because he’s not a big game player but we can possibly build a run game that can impose its will and take games out of his hands.

Booker was a smart pick if you step back and think about it but that’s with the assumption that they will grab some skill players today.

RB & WR is loaded with guys who can start and be impact players for us.

Also, our division has game wreck interior defensive lines and we can most certainly counter that now.
