Stephen Jones: We are in position not to reach for a RB or any player

I do think Henderson will be gone but there will probably still be lots of quality backs left to choose from. The Iowa kid, Kaleb Johnson, seems like the kind of guy that Schotty wants. Quinshon Judkins might last to 44 as well. In the 3rd round Cam Skattebo, Dylan Sampson, R.J. Harvey, and Bhayshul Tuten should not all be gone by 76.

I just want them to leave tonight with one of these backs. Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders are both number two backs and this team is not being serious if they think either is a starter at this point.
if/when Sanders and Willimas go down? Then what? Henerson is the best remaining back, and here we are again on the outside looking in.

Any two out of a WR, RB, CB, or DT combo would make me happy. Maybe trade down slightly if possible from either 44 or 76 and get back into the 4th round too. Because there are going to be good backs available even on Saturday.
I hope they trade back in the 2nd and 3rd rounds!!! I would love also to get a 4th to use, along with OTHER picks we got when we traded 44/76

We don't really feel like we have to pick a position anywhere. We don't feel the need to have to reach.

Nothing wrong with basically saying...we are not going to reach for a need.
They did not bring in a number of RBs for dallas day and 30 visits and did not meet with a number of RBs at the combine or pro days because they dont want to draft a rb.
I’m not defending that guy by any longshot, but I think too much is being made of this.

He is simply saying they haven’t backed themselves into any particular need. I agree with him at WR and even RB to a lesser degree….but they DO need some DLinemen…hopefully the kind that plays inside.

The goal IMO isn’t to try to build a winner for this year…that’s not possible…so just pick the best player that isn’t a QB or OL and go from there.

exactly lol, but they don't need to do this, all they're doing is giving us something to talk about until it happens lol, smart moves!
They love being in the press.

What’s funny is they are so arrogant they believe they are being smart when in reality taking a guard last night tells the rest of the league they are going RB and WR tonight.

They think they are so smart and fooling everyone. They aren’t and this is why they are hated by other owners and GMs.

No one wants to be treated like they are stupid.

I can't stand listening to Stephen but the Cowboys have actually done a nice job masking their draft intentions this year. There was almost no buzz at all about them going offensive line until hours before the pick this year (and even then the media got it wrong thinking Grey Zabel).

So I don't think too much about this. Tyler Booker was clearly a Schotty/Klayton Adams pick. If the staff wants a RB at 44 or 76 tonight I think they are taking one.
I’d like to agree, but Jerry mentioned OL in the first twice in the pre draft presser.

I figured it was a smokescreen but no, he is still blabbing to the media. Ya know…forever proving his football savvy.
