Because he's a penalty machine there. Doesn't quite have the physical skillset to play OLT at a high level.Yes. I don't understand the hesitancy to put the best player at the most important position. Hopefully Guyton takes the next step, but it should be plan b.
No joke. What's next, move Parsons to NT?dumb, why move a guy that is so good?
Nope. Tyler Smith is an all pro at LG. I don't think he will be all pro at LT. Gotta leave him where he's at.I think with the addition of Booker, your best line might be (from left to right) Smith, Hoffman, Beebe, Booker, Guyton.
With drafting Booker, ther interior OL looks like it could be dominant for the next decade. However the OT's are still very questionable. Guyton showed some promise. However overall he really struggled and alot of maturity questions popped up while he was sidelined. Getting healthy scratches when he was ready to play is very concerning. Can we count on him to be our LT?
Smith came in cold and played LT against Pittsburgh and Detroit and had strong starts. Hoffman played well down the stretch at RG, and his skill set may actually make him a better fit at LG. I think you play him there, he may actually be a plus starter
Good post.......You are 100% correct. Fans/posters can speculate all they want, but Tyler Smith is LG. IF Jerry had any thoughts of moving him to LT, why invest a FIRST ROUND PICK on a LT last year? Tyler Smith is an ALL-PRO LG.....you don't mess with that. You build around it, NOT move it from one position to another.I'm not saying I wouldn't consider it, or that it's a bad idea.... I'm just saying I don't think there is any chance the Dallas Cowboys braintrust does something like move T Smith out to LT when they just invested a premium pick in the position last year knowing Guyton needed time to develop....I know this team has a PLETHORA of G's and no idea what to do with any of them now but I still don't think that they would move an all pro LG to LT, a very recent 1st rounder to RT, demote a multi year starting RT, just so the Hoffman can play RG.....seems like a huge risk for very minimal reward and not something we have ever seen done before.... it's so much easier to just plug in Booker at RG and trust that Guyton or Richards has taken the necessary developmental steps to succeed at LT and trust that Steele has worked himself back into the form he showed 2 years ago. This seems much more like the Jones way of doing things...
