I’ve been around long enough to know that to reach the upper echelon’s of the NFL playoffs and to compete for a Super Bowl you’ll need to have very good offensive and defensive lines. You HAVE to have a legitimate running game so that late in the games with the lead you can pound away the time on the clock. Likewise you need a defensive line that can eliminate opposing teams running games. So when the new head coach voiced these same feelings I was immediately onboard with the hire.

And then the draft and they picked 3 d-lineman, 2 o-lineman and 2 running backs furthering Scotty’s vision. We all should be excited about this change in philosophy for the Cowboys. They’re trying to become a tough, physical team on both sides of the ball. The season doesn’t start until September so there’s plenty of time to address the hole at WR and maybe a CB. So win or lose, there’s something to be excited about after last year’s mess.

I'm not as hopeful as Rocky. I don't believe in BS as our HC, and I don't believe in this front office anymore after 2024.

I thought we had a good draft with a potential for 3 starters out of it. Line play is critical, but this is a known fact by anyone in the league. Just because Shotty says it, you are automatically on board? I have a bigger issue with the culture issues surrounding the Cowboys the past couple of years and Shotty standing by on the sidelines like nothing is happening yet he is suppose to fix it. Jerry got what he wanted, a first year head coach he can control. MM was suppose to fix the culture too, lets see how long Shotty lasts.

I have a feeling you'll quit much sooner this year than you did last year, Rocky.
I think we maybe worse than last year but will come on big time in the last 6 games of the season...so many may actually enjoy watching even when we're long out of the playoff mix.

Why are you still here? You posted you were going to quit posting once Dak signs his extension. You also claimed @Rockport ran away. Why do you keep lying over and over again? I know it's hard for you but man up and stop lying all the time.

Rock did run away. He quit around mid October and resurfaced about a month or so ago. Rock has earned his reputation, its up to him on where we go from here.

The Cowboys haven’t had a coach to prioritized being a physical team on both sides of the ball since Parcells. The coaches since, have just given lip service to it. It’s too soon to tell if the new head coach will be able to instill that physical, accountable culture. He does have obstacles in the way above his head. But so far, so good. I’m an optimistic guy which works well for me.

Weird that you’re defending a guy who goes around telling people to find a new team to root for, or calling them a “hater” at every turn making it an insult on this site. You’re defending a guy who has also made things racial and how they should root for their team. @MountaineerCowboy does none of those things.

The draft strategy was good imo and it does appear we want to run successfully first and pass second. I have my reservations with Shotty. Having a guy partly responsible for the culture issues on the prior staff now being promoted is questionable at best. An outside voice without bias would have been a better path, but here we are.

Preach.
