Jaydon Blue is not the answer. Hilarious.

Cowboys’ 2025 draft was one of the best, but skill players still lack

Out of their nine draft selections, only two were offensive skill players, both chosen in the later rounds.

With their first-round pick, the Cowboys selected Alabama guard Tyler Booker at #12 overall.

Booker, known for his exceptional pass protection, having not allowed a sack in his final collegiate season, was brought in to strengthen the offensive line and provide better protection for quarterback Dak Prescott.

Moreover, Booker’s size and strength at the point of attack in the running game is what excited OC Klayton Adams and offensive line coach Conor Riley.

Dallas is ecstatic to have drafted a player of Booker’s caliber immediately replace the retired Zack Martin.

{In the second round, Dallas continued to focus on the line of scrimmage by drafting Boston College DE Donovan Ezeiruaku at #44.

Ezeiruaku is expected to add depth and versatility to the defensive line, aiming to improve the team’s pass rush and run defense, alike.}

For those needing a cookie trail to Granny's cookie house...

By investing early picks in linemen and defensive players, Dallas aims to control the line of scrimmage and improve overall team performance.

The limited investment in offensive skill positions, particularly in the early rounds, suggests confidence in the current roster’s capabilities at those spots or a plan to address any deficiencies through free agency or future drafts.

Vaughn had just 17 carries last season.

His YPC only made over 4.0 because one run went for 12 yards.
I said in my first comment most of his carries he was getting hit in the backfield or in close out scenarios. It will be hard for any back to excel in those conditions. The only definitive is he hasn’t had many carries so it just depends on if you think the coaching staff was making sound decisions there. I don’t because it was obvious week 1 Dowdle should be the lead back or at the latest week 2 when he went off vs the Steelers but it took the Cowboys to mid season to figure that out.

The thing many are forgetting is just how much Booker is gonna help. We got better on offense this draft.

If someone would have told you we would have gotten Booker, Donovan E, Shavon Revel and Blue with the first 4 picks they would have said that "unrealistic" or something.

Yet here we are. Even some of our biggest haters at PFF gave us not an A, but A+.

Which team did better than Dallas this draft? Not many. This is what happens when you stick to the board.
This draft was a game changer for Dallas first of all it was an A plus draft with great football players added to the team. The most important thing however is we are seeing a culture change in this organization , simply because Jerry Jones is letting the scouts find talent for his coaches .Jerry seems to be doing better at simply letting Schottenheimer make football decisions and good results are being achieved.I believe the hiring of Brian Schottenheimer was a great hire , and I think Jerry believes in the direction the team is headed.

And a six carry, 37 yard game against Commanders backups in the last game of the year accounted for over half of Vaughn's production.

I like the kid, don't get me wrong, but he is not an NFL running back. I am thinking Blue and Mafah push Deuce to the practice squad.

Vaughn averaged 4.1 yards a carry last year. And a lot of his touches he was getting hit in the backfield or end of game scenarios where they are loaded up for the run.
Right. The same as ALL our backs since Fred left. Zeke included.

If this o-line can make some holes....would help a lot. Even Barry needed some holes just ask him.

Talking about "English" is a bit rich coming from you.

I’ll take Blue Mafah & Sanders over Dowdle and no one behind him last year any day . Hopefully Schott & Adams are a little smarter on how the running game is implemented and a fresh back is available to attack for 4 quarters .

Derrick Foster spent 2 yrs as Charger RB coach then last year as Saints RB coach before coming to Dallas . I would think he liked the Blue Mafah picks .

Williams can't play anymore?
Last year was his first after an ACL/MCL. It almost always takes a bit longer for RBs
He's only 25 years old.
Second. He also averaged 3.7 YPC in 2023 when he came back from the injury.

I still believe Deuce Vaughn is the most gifted runner on the roster.

What do you think about that, midget hater?
Do you think he makes the roster in 25?

I know you liked Dowdle before he became a legit player (so did I). But I wonder if DV actually makes the 53 or some how ends up on IR this year with all the new backs.

He is a talented runner, just super short which hasn't helped in the NFL as much as it sort of benefitted him in college.
