Team reflection

Any organization of any kind evolves to be a direct reflection of its leadership. There is no better example of this than the Dallas Cowboys.

Unfortunately, the head coach is not the leader setting the example in this organization. Any head coach capable of changing the culture will never be given the space to do so. No matter how good a game he talks in the PCs.

Yeah, just like you told us Dak would not get a second big contract? Or if he signed another big contract, we would never hear from you again?

THAT @MountaineerCowboy ???

:lmao: :laugh::muttley::facepalm:
I underestimated Jerry’s stupidity.

The “never hear from me again” thing is just a lie y'all made up because other Dak haters were saying they would leave so you lump me in with em.

It’s cool though. If I cared about y’all I’d maybe be a little hurt, but I don’t, so I’m not.

That has to be earned....if they aren't, that HC is not very good. A huge part of being a coach is the psychology side of team building. They don't buy in or have your back, they're all just collecting a paycheck. Coach and players...
I agree, not easy to do, get the buy in for your players, but that’s another reflection of toughness. I like it.

the head coach is usually the main influence on a team and after a few years will USUALLY reflect him

But this is jethro's team and nothing is going to change that

Jerry Jones is the teams’ head coach.

He hires someone to stand on the sidelines, and someone who will obey and allow his input.

I’ll be convinced otherwise when he stops holding court after games before any of the media want to speak to the HC at all. He fully sucks up the attention then cries when he loses.

Second year guys planning playoff victory parties before the game is played tells you all you need to know about how quickly they can be infected.

We better hope not.

A dude that was demoted or fired by 9 other teams before coming to Dallas.

He was made fake OC while McCarthy ran the offense last year. They didn’t even trust him enough to be a real OC.

Dallas wanted McCarthy back but he told Jerry “no thanks”.

So, in comes Schottenheimer who probably agreed to be the most not in control coach in NFL history for this job. I can’t see any other reason for his hiring.

If he left Dallas after last season no team would’ve hired him as their OC, let alone their HC. He would maybe get a job with somebody as a consultant or something. Being a nepo baby has its perks.

If anything he represents the failing up culture in Dallas.
Schotty is not a HC, period end of statement. He wasn't even an OC. He is trading on his father's name and got a job because Jethro knows he can steam roller his ***. There will be no new philosophies, no new accountability, no team success as long as Jethro and his dumb son are involved.

Everybody starts somewhere I like what he’s trying to accomplish

I liked your first paragraph. The second paragraph we have no idea yet. He could turn out to be a great leader. But that wasn’t the question. Is a team a reflection of their coach

Posters with common sense are rare here.

I appreciate you.

What does this have to do with the team being a reflection of their coach. This wasn’t a slam Jerry or a slam coach thread. It was a culture question.

Common sense..lol. schotty is your and his coach, like it or not. Saying otherwise shows, zero sense, ignorance or stupidity. Take your pick.
The common sense part is recognizing why Schottenheimer got the job and how it’s going to be an utter disaster.

You wouldn’t understand, Ranch.

I remember Jerry saying that Garrett will be a Super Bowl winning coach somewhere. He just wishes it was in Dallas.

I think what? 3 years later Garrett is out of the league? lol
Yup, we were told there were teams that would line up to hire him as head coach and he got an OC job only for two years. Now out of coaching all together. And to think he was the coach of the Dallas Cowboys for 9 years.
Now we should just blindly accept Shotty is the guy?
The Jones boys track record speaks otherwise. I’m tired of hoping for miracles from these clowns there should be a higher standard to coach the Cowboys. Just goes to show the Jones boys comfort is more important than hiring a dynamic coach that gives you an edge. I guess we just have to blindly hope again.

Is a team a reflection of their coach
If allowed to actually be the leader that everything runs through, yes. That is not the case in Dallas, so no.

If we see Shotty run up to Jerry as he's getting off the helicopter and scream "get your g d helicopter off MY practice field!" then maybe he's for real.
