New coaching staff, new mentality and new culture

The culture on the Cowboys has been getting a renovation for the last 20 years. Every spineless coach hired is brought in to "fix the culture" - at this point in time I don't even know what the makes. What exactly are we expecting with a "fixed culture."

3-12 win seasons is pretty horrible? Then there was 2016 that was a truly dominant season. Recheck the calendar stuff.

How'd they do in the playoffs?

When people bring up how many wins they had in a season but then ignore what happened in the postseason, it's pretty telling.

Not to mention how those 12 win teams ended up getting blown out in the post season in embarrassing fashion.

So a 12 win season is the bar now? Boy the expectations are really low eh?
No, those are real world achievements you try and broker off as some kind of personal shame achievement and entitlement to insult by YOU.

Value has become a second class citizen in your talk. That reflects yourself. Bragging?

Most people seem to be basing their opinions on the 2025 season outcome on the fact that the previous years coaching staff is the same coaching staff currently on deck. They either discount that fact or just chose to be ignore it to further their agenda. Well, that’s a mistake. There’s a thread out there about how much the defense is going to suck. How could anyone know that? They couldn’t. New coaching staff, new mentality and new culture. There’s threads out there about how the offense is going to suck because of no WR#2 and they didn’t draft a RB until the 5th round. How could they know? They couldn’t. New coaching staff, new mentality and new culture.

This is an exciting time in the NFL with new players from free agency, trades and the draft as well as new coaches all around. If you can’t get excited now about this years Cowboys then maybe you should find another type of entertainment. Because that’s all it is folks. Entertainment. No reason to become a Debbie Downer over everything like most of the posters are. It’s an exciting time and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2025.
I agree 100%
I just posted something similar on another thread. There are so many new variables and positives compared to last year that I don't understand how anyone can be so downtrodden.

At least he didn't have far to travel. Saving a ton on greenhouse gas emissions right there.
As if you have a clue on hazardous materials, or personal rewards on a player's level of commitment.

You even have a clue discussion level on John Randle? How about Eugene Upshaw? No time in grade complainer!

Not to mention how those 12 win teams ended up getting blown out in the post season in embarrassing fashion.
How many 12 wins teams have YOU ever seen? Cry baby. Buy yourself a trophy....don't call yourself a fan.

DAL will probably come in dead last in the NFCE. They are comprised of "dudes." Outside Dak, CD, Micah, and Aubrey there are a bunch of no names.
First of all ,

you don't build your team around names, so what do you mean no names ?
so, Tyler Smith, Cooper Beebee(yes He has nothing but upside and he's going to get better every year)
they have no talent ?there you're trying to tell me that a healthy, Overshown isn't a name? that's backed up by his play on the field? Just because Trayvon Diggs is hurt doesn't mean he's not going to get his career back on track,
I don't get why you mentioned a couple dudes,
but I see more than that on this team and that's on you I get to see what I get to see but you're wrong they're not comprised of a few dudes,
that is why they brought in a different coaching staff, but don't sell them short ,there's more talent sprinkled around on this team ,I see it in up and comers like Liafu, Bland, and You still can get solid play out of guys like Butler and Turpin( best returner and ST player in the league) and yes we can wait on other guys like with potential..
they're there that's what teams are made of. Maybe even mention OSA? i'm sitting here writing this and thinking where did you only come up with those three names or 4 names and you had to just name the kicker there are dudes on this team that can play that's why they won 36 games, 2 division titles and 3 stright playoff appearances, over three years..
they went to the playoffs five out of the last eight years when Prescott was healthy ,the only two years that were bad were because of injuries.. they were injury riddled it wasn't a few injuries they were decimated by injuries, and I believe our team is closer to those 12 win teams than it is the seven win team which by the way bad teams that play with mostly their backups and practice squad and still win 7 games can't be that bad.. we literally won seven games with Mostly backups.

Look in no way am I hyping up this season am I saying that you know this is our year..

it's going to be better than expected blah blah blah but I'm saying take away all the injuries or at least most of them we were ravaged at some positions where we were playing guys off the practice squad as starters or we were playing 3rd stringers as starters and practice guys as backups..

it happened from training camp all the way to the end of the year we had massive amounts of injuries that's where the seven games came from not because of lack of talent or they didn't bring over Derrick Henry they didn't address the running back position which is all true but those wouldn't have helped last year nothing would have saved the year.
so now we get to see those guys hopefully get back healthier and we get to see a fresh group of free agents and draft picks mixed in and we'll just watch the games and see how it turns out..
but dead last ? I say no and I say Washington may take a step back because they're not going to get to play the same level of talent I mean yeah sure the Eagles are the Super Bowl champions but you think they're going to be the exact same team this year.. I mean is there a reason that you don't have back to back winners in the NFC East Very often? There's going to be some surprises in the Cowboys could be one of them I'm not offering any predictions, i'm just telling you that's not even probable to me they're finishing dead last, and we only have like 4 good guys on this whole team?!!!
get over yourself, there's more than that on this team and you need to open your eyes to see it...

No kidding. I disliked the Texas Coast Offense immensely. That and not being a disciplinarian.
The lack of bringing some disapline to the team and a terrible running scheme turned McCarthy 's offense in to the Texas Toast offense. I hope Shottenheimer can instill some disapline into this team and a better offense, we will see. I think this team has improved from last season with the players and coaches.

What does 12 wins signify? Recall two years ago Philadelphia started out 10-1, they faltered down the stretch. Finished with 11 wis and got blown out in the first round of the playoffs on the road in Tampa. There were derisive comments here about the Eagles, their head coach, and their quarterback. Everyone felt their Super Bowl the previous season was a fluke. Their weird head coach with the “punchable face” would be fired. And their quarterback, Jalen Hurts, is not only not elite, but not really very good. That same season the Cowboys won 12 games, again, also got blown out in the first round of the playoffs at home.

Measure the response of both franchises in the immediate aftermath of those disappointing playoff losses. Maybe you can’t understand why 12 wins in a season doesn’t mean much. Most at this site can. The Cowboys coach is the one out of a job, the Cowboys quarterback is not only not elite, but not really very good. And the 12 win seasons, perhaps they were a fluke.

Don’t call yourself a fan.

That involves game changers. Not cry baby routines.

La ti da...I played in College Bowl Games and been around Dallas since Day One for Dallas. Grow up, you pompous ***.

2016 blows YOUR pompous reasoning out of the water. Disprove that, Mr. Arrogant...for starters.

QB, Jerry, 30 year calendar still don't erase the good brought along on a team. Your evaluation is not one. Blame game instead.

When do YOU respect actual achievements then recognize elements that do and can effect real world change.

Experience and team strengths is built in the playoffs and experiences there as well. Go insult someone that doesn't see through your crap loads.

if this is true, so be it im on board.

id rather fail at Brians vision, than JJs.

if this is honest to God true, im all for it. If Brian had a say in the draft, love it. if he has a say in how the team operates, love it. I want our HC to be the HC.

I suggest you start to actually read about the team and coaches and players for once. Get to know them and what they want to accomplish.
Then they will not be a bunch of no names.
You may actually enjoy watching each season as it unfolds, you know, it is what fans do.

Suggestion. Don't drink the water out of a river.
