Nick Harris dropped a couple nuggets

Interesting notes. I wonder if Tet was the pick at 12, then when would they have addressed the OG position and with who? Would they have gone OG in the second round? or would they still be Ezeiruaku?

WR off the board after the 5th is also interesting. I wonder who they had in the 4th and 5th rounds that were worth taking?

4th round WRs:
Chimere Dike
Dont'e Thornton
Arian Smith
Jaylin Lane
Jalen Royals
Eric Ayomanor
Jordan Watkins

5th round WRs:
Ke'Andre Lambert -Smith
Tony Horton

Thornton with his vertical speed may have been worth a look. But I don't think any of these guys are potentially better than Tolbert or Mingo. They may turn out to be, but based on their attributes, I think they are similar or worse prospects that what Dallas already has. Still, not having a 4th round pick hurt the Cowboys.

On the last point, I really hope they do not do it again and trade away yet another 4th round pick for a guy who has struggled in the NFL. The time to address this was in Free Agency.

and once again we see how much that moronic trade for Mingo probably cost us
Mingo at pick 114 doesn't appear to be a bad deal. He should contribute and the receivers that were left on the board probably wouldn't be much better.

sure in homer land; we could have gotten a much better RB in that round; or DT
but of course Jethro is always right to you

After the outstanding draft haul they got. Stupid to dwell on Mingo just because you don't like Jerry. Mingo will contribute and they did have an outstanding draft no matter what you say.

Tet is a stud muffin and I'm glad to see the team had him ranked high.

And yeah... in round 6 and on, you are basically picking from Mingo level players anyway. Looking back at the draft recap, I wouldn't mind taking a shot on the Colorado WR, Lajohntay Westner. But that's about it. Trading a 4th for Mingo hurts though, cause I would have definitely taken Elic Ayomanor over him.

I wouldn't trade for Pickens either. If it was just a question of Pickens' talent vs his focus, I might take that gamble. But if he's going to want a fat, 4 year/$100M type contract to be a headcase, and you have to give up a 2nd... no way. That's just a bad bet.

IMO in the 2nd you still had guys like Ratledge who probably would of been plug and play at RG, his spot from college. Especially if Dallas wanted to be a power blocking team.

Yeah,in retrospect, Mingo was a better prospect than any of the guys there in 4.

That said, he had already proven he couldn't play in the NFL, whereas draft picks always have that upside. Still a bad trade, because it should've been for one of our comp 5ths at best, but not really as bad as we all assumed.

He doesn’t like anyone or anything.

Mingo is playing in the NFL and he will contribute.

Plus a 4th round rookie gives you 4 years of cheap control. Mingo is set for FA after 2026.

I bet you said that after the 2009 draft as well
Anybody would say that this draft is outstanding. They just added 13 players in this draft. I think that 12 of them will make the team and the other one will be on the practice squad. They got a good haul.
