When was the moment you began to feel old?

Things that make me feel old:

When albums you listened to as a kid/teen turned 25-35 years old.
When you realize there are teens/young adults walking around that didn't experience 9/11
When you just watched your daughter turn 26, and you remember 26 like it was a few years ago.
When you check out a cutie walking down the street and realize you could be her dad. (I hate that one lol)
When you're complaining about today's new music and how much is sucks (like your parents did).
When you're watching all the action heroes from your childhood getting really old or dying off.
When getting drunk wrecks you for days at a time.
When a year 2000 sports car is a 25 year old classic.
When the last time you watched your favorite NFL team win a Super Bowl, VCRs were a common household electronic.
When you realize you now say "Back in my day!"
When you remember life before the internet.
When 5 years gets behind you like it was one 1 year.
What I have a problem with is trying to pronounce some of these new bands, their names. Anyways I have a theory, all the good band names, least the ones that were worth a flip. Those were taken years ago

Bingo. Exactly.

Welcome to the club nobody wants to join!

They say getting old is better than the alternative, but I'm not so sure.

Haha.

Very true.

I’ll tell you. The experience made me feel some serious empathy for people with chronic back issues.

Like it wasn’t even a pain tolerance thing. The pain was severe but this pain was so bad and I think just the nerve being aggravated. My back/body straight up refused to move. Like I was purposefully trying to move in certain directions and I know my brain was sending the signals for my back to move and it just….. wouldn’t. No matter how hard I tried to make it move. Just nothing. Nothing but pain.

Very strange feeling. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend.

Yeah, I have arthritis throughout my spine and pelvic joints. I can manage it fairly well, now that I have an inversion table and do stretches specifically for it.

But when I first found out about it, it just grabbed hold of me. I woke up in the middle of the night, feeling like someone drove a railroad spike through my cervical spine. With all the injuries and such I've had in my 61 years, that was by far the most pain I've ever been in.

I hear ya. I still do the daily stretches the PT taught me after that. To try my best and prevent it from happening again.

You began to feel old? For me, it was in the last couple years when folks at the feed mills started asking if I was sure I didn't need help loading. Dang! I've been tossing 50lb bags into the bed of a truck for a long time. Now I look so old, I shouldn't be able to do it anymore?
That's a respect thing tho. You'll find that at places like feed stores in the south.
