I like the kind that jump over people while running backwards
I mean, my first thought was a LaDainian Tomlinson-type but it's not like you can find those guys in every draft.I like the kind that jump over people while running backwards
Sure, but that type is rare. You generally have to make a choice between a pounder and a HR threat.Bell cow. Durable and tough. Strong enough to get the 3rd and shorts but yet athletic enough to break a few long ones as well. Don't hafta have track speed but can't be slow as molasses either.
Besides, Dallas and their historically long list of impressive running backs, refects a lot of past team success based off bell cow type runner performance.
So there's team history to support the bell cow type too.
Yeah, there's maybe 2 or 3 of those in the NFL at any given time. Too rare to wish for, pretty much.I mean, my first thought was a LaDainian Tomlinson-type but it's not like you can find those guys in every draft.
Well I was reading through the post before I was going to answer, I don't always do that. As I was scrolling I was thinking...Why has no one mentioned Jim Brown?I think there is an argument for both. Dorsett is my second favorite player all time but I think the best RB of all time may have been Jim Brown. I just like watching excellence at the position and we've been blessed as Cowboy fans to have the all time leading rusher and Tony D and Zeke before he got washed.
That's why I'm intrigued. I think Blue can run between the tackles so he's not one dimensional. I think Mafah can pop 20-30 yard runs so he's not one dimensional. And the best case scenario is to have both a pounder and a flasher.
Those guys don’t lastJohn Riggins, Earl Campbell,. I’ll take the bangers. The bus.
With a little touch of Dorset thrown in
this is a player i wish we would have keptThis.......DeMarcio Murray
tough, always falling forward, 2-3 yards in the bank, especially 3rd/4th downs.
And what does that have to do with anything? That’s the life of a running back. Those guys don’t last
Amen!Give me Earl Campbell with a little bit of Tony Dorsett mixed in
