TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

I actually like Pickens better than DK Metcalf. I just don't love the off field stuff. On paper, he's better than the receiver Pitt got in Metcalf. On paper, he's a nice complimentary wr to CD. Unfortunately, reality says at some point, he might be an issue. I think at worst, he's a expensive one year rental that helps us now. At best, he's great for 3 years or more here and makes this offense click. I don't mind one but the bold move, the swing for the fences on a talented young vet wr. I rather see this kind of effort by the Jones boys than telling us they are all in while they do absolutely nothing. Guys and Gals, this team should have us excited. Even if for one year, we might catch lightning in a bottle. We could be dangerous.

Who beats that team?

I am not really against the trade. Dallas needed playmakers. Maybe you preferred cooper for free but he is at the age where you can start a decline and last year (in not good scenarios in Cleveland and than mid season trade) he was not good.

I think we know how these things typically end with Dallas but I guess I am ok with this. Our skill players outside Lamb were just bottom of the league. Pickens helps improve the talent.
Cooper Kupp and Stephon Diggs aren’t even close to Pickens.

If he can mature a bit, he’s a true difference maker.

That being said, almost all WRs are divas to some extent.

Seeing this depth chart really puts into perspective how bad that WR room really is. Even post Pickens.

Same goes for RB. And DT. And LB.

Not to get down. I like them trying to improve the team. Just going to hope he's on his best behavior when Ceedee rightfully gets 100 catches again.

I think this will end up being a 1 year rental if I'm being honest. Unless he just lights it up.

This trade has been kicked around apparently for a month. I would think they’ve talked to the player’s agent during that period to make sure he’ll report on time and play.
Broaddus said a couple days ago they checked in on Bateman in Baltimore.

The Cowboys were desperate for WR help to provide help in addition to Cee Dee Lamb. The result will hopefully prove a worthwhile one if Pickens shows a real desire to renew his career.

Let's hope he proves himself a good addition to boost a passing offense that sorely needed an assist. Now, opposing defenses can ill afford to double and triple cover Cee Dee in the season that awaits.

Let's see if this addition provides the valuable help of a worthy #2 wideout that this Cowboys offense sorely needs. I feel certain that this team will welcome his presence. He should respond well.

Our issues this year will be on defense.Far too many questions there. Now we need to sign a db. I bet Gilmore is being signed as we speak. Either him or Alexander from GB.

I think there is a real possibility that this is a one year rental for Dallas. Suppose Dallas turns around and trades for a legit running back on top of this move, or trades for another receiver.

That move likely put Dallas drafting at or near the end of each round. If Pickens departs we essentially get a comp pick that would probably be significant (at worst). That makes the cost of this trade the difference between those picks.
