Sure. Now they do this.
stop with the 25% narrative.Just because you would have rather doesn't mean this is a bad deal. We gave up a 3rd rounder. The hit rate on a 3rd rounder may be 25% to ever be a basic starter. We just got a guy defenses fear. Just because you want a defensive player doesn't make this a bad move. It's a great move. Imagine our season is CD gets a high ankle sprain or anything.... our offense would come to a screeching halt. This move is great.
Lamb is our only legit weapon on offense.I rather would have traded for a defensive player. all the offense is not going to translate to winning in post season.
what!?You know what you get with that troll. Notice how vocal he is when we make moves. Just trolling.
Which DT are you so upset we didn't trade for?does Pickens make us a superbowl team? how?
could a DT get us closer to a superbowl team? how about a saftey? or LB? could we package that and move up in the draft to get an impact defensive player? now, pickens on a one year deal. and no 3rd round pick and no other guarantees.
we already know offense alone doesn't do anything...you need defense...but I get it. Offense sells more jerseys.
I don’t see us as a legit contender either but this move got us closer. This really is the issue. I like the trade, I think it move the Cowboys in the direction of more wins, but we still neglected parts of the defense and have total question marks at both tackle spots. I still struggle to view this team as a serious contender, and it feels like another early exit playoff team.
so last year's trade for Mingo was stupid move....you can't have it both ways. essentially treaded a 3rd,4th, 5th for WRs, that are on one year contracts. AWSOMEThis was a football move. Not a jersey selling move.
Great move Dallas.
He's done some bone headed and childish things for sure. It's time to grow up and be a professionalFans also love talent that occasionally makes spectacular plays. But they never have to deal with the behind-the-scenes headaches.
Mingo was a dumb move.so last year's trade for Mingo was stupid move....you can't have it both ways. essentially treaded a 3rd,4th, 5th for WRs, that are on one year contracts. AWSOME
I’m not judging the trade good or bad, nor am I judging the reason.Or maybe Jerry who is more sensitive to criticism than a high school girl on instagram, pulled the trigger because of those stories on top of the ones stating how we added no WRs this offseason and wasted our 4th rounder on a guy he kept trying to bring up during the draft cycle as relevant even though everyone knew he was not. Who cares the reason. We are where we are. Jerry needs to get credit for this one, just like he deserved for the Gilmore and Cooks trades. You can't predict the future on how trades will end up, but IMO the risk/reward here makes it worth it to me. Yes, he may crash and burn, but it was probably our biggest hole left (followed closely by a decent run stopping NT) and the talent with Pickens is undeniable. Thumbs up for Jerry here IMO.
Spot on. No other team in NFL would have done this trade. There was no market for him. Cowboys had to over-pay to 'force' the trade. The price is what gets me.
We now have given up a 4th rounder for a total project in Mingo and a 3rd for a guy that if I were to put odds on it, it around 80% likely to melt down here in Dallas.
I'd have taken a flier on Pickens if his cost was like a 5th rounder or worse but I just can't shake the feeling we got burned here again.
Jerry really cares about Jersey sales. his moves are always financially related. he is a billionaire, that cares about money first. winning second.Missing on Mingo doesn't mean we made a bad trade for Pickens.
Are you worried we didn't just significantly upgrade our WR position?
Doubt 99 year old Jerry cares about selling a few jerseys at this point.
Tale as old as timeThese idiots are luring me back in….ugh…
If any of these guys were ever going to be a legit weapon we would already know it.That was my preference too. Give Mingo and Tolbert a year to prove they are the right guys and if not use the 2026 draft to get a receiver. I think this deal short circuits the development of the Cowboys younger players and honestly, I don't think it makes them a contender for the SB in 2025.
And, in all likelihood, Pickens will move on from Dallas in 2026 and the Cowboys will have arrested the development of the guys they have.
Yes you did.yeah, you really didn't have to go for a player like this if you truly intend to be a power running team first & foremost.
You might want to tell that to the world champs. Or the Ravens. Or the Bills.League rules don’t even allow you play the pass. It’s a passing league until otherwise shown. Certainly running it 40 times a game can’t help you.
Sure. Now they do this.
how are we not far behind washington. they played in NFCCG. we haven't come close AT ALL. can't sniff it.Washington we arent far behind. That’s a ridiculous thing to say.
At worst even.
Philly is way ahead of us. No doubt.
The defense should have an elite pass rush.
Linebackers and secondary has some holes but also has potential answers.
If the offense can get leads this defense will cause problems with the pass rush alone.
