TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

Oh really, a big receiver that can catch the ball and can block is a bad move at pick 114.
yeah a reciver that had 17 catches last year, 17 the year before and has total of 0 TDs in three years!! and averaging 11 1Ds per season... WOW how awsome is that.
you just described a 7th rounder or UDFA type WR....

in fact turpin had 2 in 2024, 3 in 2023.
Jalen Brooks had 12 catches and 1 TD in 2023,
Flourney had 10 reception in 24

I mean come on man!

you want to tell me DTs don't matter? would you not rather have traded up for example and take some one like Schewsinger, Emmanwori, TJ Sanders, or use the picks to move up in first round and take a player like Graham..

I find it funny, people have been complaining about DT spot being weak for several years now, but one trade for a flashy player and "who cares about defense".

I rather spend money, draft picks on defense. without a defense, this is a team built for regular season and not post season.
So for what we gave up for Pickens you have no answer to my question....

And no I absolutely would not have traded away my #2 or next years 1 to move up for a DT in the draft.
We got a potential great pass rusher, a starting RG and now a #2 WR who is good enough to be a #1..... and you would rather give all of us up so we could get your DT.... nah

He will contribute. He is a 3 or a 4 on this team. Excellent depth for the Cowboys. Receivers are now solid.

the goal is to build a team to win the superbowl, if we are not doing that, then what are we doing. Pickens doesn't make us a superbowl team, the trade being worth it or not. defense is what gets you to the superbowl and we need to invest heavily on defense. instead we buy flash, more scoring, yet defense who gave up 6 TDs last year on 6 straight drives of 75 yards or more. same against detroit, same against baltimore. and three big losses, because why? the offense needs to keep pace in scoring? is that realistic to expect and offense to score every drive (perhaps if they played the cowboys defense) and before using injuries as an excuse, there was no injuries against Saints, and most of the defense was available against detroit and Baltimore...

its not about value of a trade. its about making the moves that gets the team closer to a championship. this doesn't. just see 21,22, 23 seasons....top 5 offense, NADA to show for it.
All true.

But none of it really matters anyway. Jerrys an idiot who gave Dak an unwarranted contract. He will never admit to that being a mistake. So he is doubling and tripling down.

This will be yet another mistake. The sad part is that it doesnt even make me mad anymore. The incompetence is simply expected at this point.

Forget about the Cowboys winning a Superbowl before Jethro dies. Its doubtful we win one before I die.

He had $90K in fines last year and $200K in 2023. There’s a ton of compilation videos of him crashing out.

That said, he’s an undeniable talent.
thanks. but was still looking more for specifics. i also don't really have a gauge for what constitutes a lot of money in fines, and curious what they were for. but i'll head back to google.

what hatred? what justification? what did we get the last time we had the #1 scoring offense in the league? a blow out in the playoffs. and the time before that? same thing and the time before that, exactly the same thing. so investing in offense to be top notch in the league has resulted in nothing! absolutely nothing in post season.

and Jerry has made a deal, he unlike other teams, collects all the jersey sales.....and that's what jerry is focused on. marketing the team. making sales. increasing values. CD, Parson, Dak were top 10, top 20 the past few years. Diggs snuck in one year. so lets say pickens does well. would he crack the top 10 or 20 in the NFL and jerry would directly profit...and the offense does well and we exit in the playoff once again empty handed....jerry makes typical excuses. but made out where he wanted....
Having a #1 offense does not in any way mean we need to have a garbage defense.
If their was defensive help out there we could actually have both. Why act like adding Pickens somehow means we are ignoring the defense.

Which player are you upset we passed on that would have come in and helped the D that much?
Its a false choice you are attempting to make.

You don't understand how it works. If he's good and bolts we get a nice comp pick(3 or 4) in return. It's actually a great trade.
I think you are the one that "doesn't understand how it works". His average yearly salary is so low that we would be looking at a 7th rounder that may increase up to a 5th rounder if he makes the pro bowl. In any case, we just punted a 3rd round pick for a rental who's going to play on a 2025 Cowboy team with very little chance of winning the division.

what do you mean no answer? either trade for a defensive player or don't trade and use it to move up in the draft and get a DT, LB or saftey, all bigger needs than a WR2

and here we go with potential this, potential that. yeah, I would rather trade up and get Graham, than a RG any day of the week. or have you not been paying attention to Davis and Jones in the two superbowl teams who just played this past year!

I am sure you are already looking to buy a pickens jersey and that's why jerry loves fans like you....

they added two of the best defenders in the draft to our defense. and brought in several former first rounders. personally i'd have rather had nolan or grant than booker, but i like the guys they added. coupled with guys returning from injury and i don't think it's very fair to point to last year. the defense has a chance to be very good imo

I followed him some last year and it’s things like getting into it with the media, wanting more targets..I mean against Dallas you saw him suck and let Lewis get into his head and then pulled him by his face mask and flung him. He takes plays off if the ball doesn’t go his way. He is not an all eyes on me guy like TO. He will do something stupid and then apologize and say he shouldn’t have done it.

I take the risk on him.

I don’t see how this guy is worth a third

Under contract for only one more season and has only been above average? I don’t see the upside
Look t who he had at QB. Dak may not be elite, but he is sure a heck of a lot better than what he had.
Also he has a legit WR opposite of him. That helps tremendously.
