Pickens not a malignant Larou locker room personality. He was demonstrative about poor quarterback play. The press (as we all know) can and will gas light for their own benefit
Exactly you can even watch his highlight tape and see the kind of balls he was getting. Dak isn't elite elite but he is good enough to try a run at it all...at least w these weapons

D. Way too much for a one year rental that is also a head case. Here’s a novel idea, let’s actually draft someone as opposed to constantly trading away picks for other teams’ trash

I asked for a number 2 for lamb we got a number 2 for Lamb

Dude is going to leave CeeDee in one on ones because he can go off as well

hmmm, we have drafted
Beebe
Osa
Tolbert,
overshown
Gallup in the 3rd

in another thread somebody claimed success rate of 25%

people are just reaching for a number to win their argument. they are not fact based.
You're probably not getting a guy with this much talent in the 3rd. I know it happens, but this player really is pretty darn talented.

on a one year rental? or multi year contract? its about investment and that includes cap and pick. now, if we want to keep him we have to spend a big part of the cap on WR2...

They lock in the top end of a his comp pick without dealing with the uncertainty of next year or his next contract. I assume if there was more of a market, they would have traded him before the draft.
Reports were they were seeking a 2nd for him, they may have been able to move him for a 3rd on draft day this year but just didn't come about and maybe they didn't want to do it? I don't think it's a bad deal for either team, but understand why Steelers fans would be upset. They finally have a legit 1 and 2 receiver, could have got a more immediate pick to help the team, but now they're back to basically the prior year and now with no QB too.

The Steelers should look at Keanen Allen and Amari Cooper. Obviously less upside than Pickens at this point in their careers, but I think there's potential to get similar short term production.

There was no evidence to suggest the Steelers were going to re-sign him. To get a 3rd round pick for him, is great work by their GM

Ok...when I see someone use slippery language that begs for affirmation "The press (as we all know)..." - I suspect their arguments are suspect. :)

First, everyone gets their information from someone else who was there. Either they were classically trained or they are an amateur. Both have drawbacks, but the notion that Pickens behavior - on the field, in the lockerrrom - is a "media" creation, IS LAZY AND DISINGENUOUS. Lazy because it becomes the default backdoor for people who LACK ACCOUNTABILITY and it is not an honest assessment of his behavior...including grabbing Lamb's facemask like a punk BECAUSE HE'S A SORE LOSER.

Nah...you're gonna have to come better than the lazy "it's the media" argument. Unless you want to tell me you have direct sources denied to the rest of us. Just how did you "look past" all those reports and get the "real truth"?

A+

Let’s get real here. An elite talent like this isn’t available for a 3rd round pick. The Eagles got Johan Dotson for similar compensation. These are not the moves Dallas typically makes. When I heard it I prayed it wasn’t for a 2nd. It was for a 3rd and some late round picks.

It comes with risks. But low risks.

This is what we asked for. Win now move. And who knows what bus value is maybe we bring him back. Worst case? We lose him and we get a comp pick. There’s no risk.

Go find us a 1T and maybe a vet running back and I’m good.
Not only that, but the draft picks are for the 2027 draft, not next year. For some reason, that makes me like the trade even more.

You think Tomlin is a good coach?
He is a good coach but that doesn't change anything players move around a lot now him being moved does not make it because he was a bad player or because they didn't like him lots of player movement now I'm more than in the past the last five years I've never seen so many players move I mean look what happened you get the Giants let go of Saquan Barkley and he goes to Philadelphia in our division that doesn't happen very often that was dumb they let him go they could have tried to sign him they should have offered him the the biggest bag ever to stay instead he goes and gets a ring with the competitor and shoves it right back in their face..

I do think Tomlins a very good coach but again that doesn't take away from this trade it doesn't make him a good or bad coach they're just trying to get ahead of things they don't even have a damn quarterback...

I agree the comp for Pickens isn’t sb issue. My point was it drops the need for Mingo who you gave a 4th for. I think WR2 was our biggest need after the draft though not the only weak spots we have. But if we can get offende rolling that helps the defense
But you can't live in the past they can't see the future they did this because they thought it was a good move at the time we get it a 4th was two months we get it a 4th was two months but this does not attach to what they did today they have nothing at all to do with anything they thought Mingo was a project that he was worth what they gave for him they might be wrong but they're not attached to the hip these two things mean nothing together mingo can still make this team..

Dude is a serious locker room issue….did u not see some of the stuff he did with the Steelers, quitting on multiple plays included? And he only has one year left on his contract……do we want to sign him long term with BIG effort and A-hole personality issues, after giving up a 3rd? The criticism for this trade is very valid. Maybe he will grow up here and drop those attitude and effort issues…..but there’s a good chance he doesn’t….and will want a big contract after only one season. We will see. Big talent, but talent doesn’t always pan out.
I say it isn't and I'm leaving it right there because i'm done with player fans giving me tire head lack of fans that have lack of common sense just let it go let it go there's been worse players or on par that are on the Hall of Fame lots of them like Trello Owens was supposed to be a cancer in what way was he a cancer in a distraction just because he was a diva that wanted the football and the same way with Dez Bryant they said in the locker room he was not this happened on the field in the heat of the moment when things weren't gone right he showed some immaturity we sucked didn't miles Garrett swing a helmet at somebody I mean sometimes you get on the field and passion and the heat of the moment takes over but in no way have they said his locker room was becoming a cancer he was screaming yelling at teammates on the field and I've seen it before and we'll see it again....

They moved on from Naji Harris as well they don't have a quarterback all teams make moves like this he's not being moved and no there shouldn't be criticism for this trade they needed a clear number two and instead of they got a 1B this is so much next level from getting Amari Cooper who also had baggage with him about taking plays off he almost never practiced he rather played chess he always over exaggerated his foot injury to get out of practice he took plays off he hell he took some games off on the road you guys wanted Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper who both didn't even have stats better than Tolbert last year.

I a hundred percent disagree with you. This is beyond what we thought they were going to do or should do they made a really good trade for a young player who was a starting wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers and we're going to use them as a number two but he's a 1B this is well beyond all expectations and we'll see how it goes if they thought it was that big a problem didn't Brian Schottenheimer say they were trying to change the culture and they didn't want any problem people you don't think they had long talks with other players and coaches from that team you act like you think you know things they didn't make this trade blindly they've been talking about it for over three weeks now and they finally made it happen I guarantee they did their homework they did their research if you don't like it too bad and the criticism is not necessary let's let him play 17 games here and see how he affects the team good bad or indifferent and we can talk if not..

Too bad so sad it already happened like the Prescott signing already happened he's already here you all these complaints are absolutely a waste of time they're a monumental waste of just mouse running over because you want to be like spoiled toddlers you think you know how to build a team better than actually professional group who actually own the team and they made a move everybody wanted them to get a better receiver and they got a better receiver never good enough around here..

I’m sure he makes the team. I just think as the 3rd WR he takes more explosive plsyers off the field. And if he’s not the 3rd the 4th was wasted. A 4th is a spot you can get really good players at some positions. It just smells like Jerry with no plan just throwing darts at a board. My biggest gripe at him is no solid plan as to what he’s gonna do next

Sorry, but IMO there is no way we can grade the trade yet. Who knows how it will play out, it could be anywhere from an A+ to an F.

The guy has the talent and the skill set we need to make this offense great. But he also has some major red flags that are unknown as to if or how they effect the team overall and that will only be reveled by time.
Well there is a button to change one's vote. Compared to what they have on paper before vs after the trade I think you can grade it. Will be interesting to see how the voting .pct's fluctuate at various times during the season.

I guess it is safe to bring in rodgers to be QB now.

Voting doesn't stay open that long at some point it gets cut off.. Anybody who voted underneath a C or below are ridiculous... It's just an opinion but I'm telling you it's ridiculous I won't be coming off ridiculous absolutely insane everybody wanted a number two wide receiver we bring in number two wide receiver in who's really a 1B and people are going to give it AC this is better than anything that could have been expected from a Keenan Allen or an Amari Cooper who didn't even put up numbers hell neither did Debo Samuels Michael Gallup brandon Cooks I mean we can love a whole bunch of guys he's even Cooper kup had her off gear making like $13 million did you see his declining numbers this is the absolute best thing that could have been done for what the Cowboys needed it's better than just about anything they could have brought in if you look at the man's talent and his age you get to see what he does for a year and if you want to keep him we have a number 2 wide receiver for a very long time if you don't want to keep him it didn't cost him that much....

Think about it those players I mentioned up there jalen Tolbert's numbers were about the same or better than just about that whole list this is about the best thing going to happen and people are giving it below C anybody putting things below a sea again are ridiculous and will never be happy they are the most unhappy jaded insufferable fans I've ever been a part of...

"A-" from me. I would have given it an "A" but the fact it could be a 1yr rental or possibly cost a large extension kept me from doing so.

His immaturity is something to keep an eye on for sure. But, he is a very talented WR that improves the offense and the team.
