Pickens is worth the gamble!

His attitude will fluctuate according to the win-loss record and his touches. If we're winning and he gets his touches, he'll be okay. If we're losing and he's not getting his touches, he's going to be, well, touchy, and we'll see the George that made Tomlin want to get rid of him.

Either way, the Cowboys upped their news relevance for the offseason and into the new season, AGAIN!

Way to good, Jerry!

Well, let's make sure we are winning a lot.

One thing about the comp pick is it's dependent on the next contract he signs and if he does in Dallas what he did in Pittsburgh I don't think teams will be lining up to give him a big contract.

There's a very real scenario where you gave up your 3rd round pick for one season of a malcontent.
That’s the risk. Or he plays very well, is a great compliment to Lamb and helps makes this offense much better. I guess we shall see but it certainly beats them sitting on their hands and doing nothing.

and it beats them bringing in Amari Cooper and calling it a day.

-Just 24, with zero injury concerns
-He is comp eligible, meaning worst case, if he leaves in 2026, Cowboys would receive a pick back.
-Will be motivated, playing on a contract year.
-Excellent complement to Lamb, where teams will think twice about doubling Lamb on every pass
-He could easily step into the #1 WR role if Lamb ever went down with injury.
-Late Day 2 pick isn't a big cost, considering his age and production. There won't be a better receiver to draft in the 3rd rd.
-Dak/Lamb just signed big extensions, it will be up to them to keep Pickens in line.
-Jerry always does an extensive background check around the league about the player.
-He has never been an off the field problem with the law, is well liked, where he simply needs to grow up.
I agree and this isn't to you this is to everyone else who doesn't seem to be liking this trade which is in my opinion the best that's why I love scenario for the Dallas Cowboys out of all the other free agents or trades that could have been made this is the very best he's not just a number two we're bringing over a former number one and making him one B you add him with the juice we can get out of the backfield from blue among other things this is the only thing that should be taken from this is positive this is something nobody expected and this is better than any of the other options that Jerry could have brought over i'm Marty Cooper and Keenan Allen are on their way out they're becoming washed they're average they're not even barely better than Tolbert so people should be very happy about this and this statement is not to you this is to everyone else...

Here I got one last sentence for everyone, and I'm taking myself out of the loop for this anybody who doesn't like this it's too bad it already happened prescott is here, too bad it already happened.

You all that don't like any of this have one choice just don't follow the Cowboys anymore you can complain and hate it all you want but it's happening,
there's nothing you could do to control it, it's happened ,
it's already happened ...
it's too late,
IF you don't like the Dallas Cowboys, it's already happened,
you have no control of it the only thing you can control is how much you complain and vent and need therapy in here..
some of us are not going to come reply and get on your side of all the negativity be happy or not it doesn't matter it's happened it can't be reversed it's going forward life moves on and life moves forward. Move with it or fall behind or get ran over lol

Extending him now would be the cheapest they could extend him for. The longer they wait, the more it will cost. But that seems to be the Jerry way.
I think IMO anyway...this might be a case where I would agree with Jerry's take about "I'd rather wait and get it right". I think I wanna see this guy behave and fit in during the season before I sign him. Don't kill me gentlemen.

Actually that makes no sense at all can we stop the they better extend people earlier else and that's the Cowboys way we just had a whole bunch of people that didn't like this trade because they think the guy could be a cancer in a locker room they think he could be a problem with his character or his maturity and you want them to sign him right away you know what the Denver Broncos did and you know what the Cleveland Browns did they made a trade and signed their two quarterbacks right away and what happened what exactly happened with those trades they turned out to be giant flops they ate a lot of money this is not a scenario where you extend a guy early this is a audition for the guy.

He's getting a chance to prove whatever said about him in Pittsburgh was wrong and that he can earn his next deal yes the Parsons deal should have been done already and maybe they should have been already talking about Tyler Smith but at some point this has to stop you guys telling the Cowboys what they need to do it would be a giant monumental mistake to sign this guy early I'm sorry it might cost him more but at least he'll know what they're paying for...

This trade give dallas the best WR duo since Irvin and Harper.
This combo is also similar to Irvin and Harper.

It changes the offense in a huge way.

Now we just have to see if Dak can take advantage of what he now has, Decent OL, new duo
of top WR, and a good running game !
Things just got even more interesting.

Cowboys will for sure make playoffs now. I bet their SB odds go up too, and the 7.5 wins
predicted will also go up.

Reports I am seeing is Pickens was a coachable and well-liked player in Pittsburgh.

The issues were the on-field temper tantrums; which date back to his time at Georgia. He needs to mature in that area but otherwise this is not a bad person.
2 clips I saw suggest he doesnt take any crap from opposing players !
He grabbed jourdan lewis facemask and took him down casually , and the other showed him fighting
with other teams players at Georgia.

He wont take a push in the back like lamb did last year.

The answer for anyone paying attention and not totally in love, the answer is no.
Yep...if we are going to take advantage of them being confused on coverage, we have to have someone that can take advantage of them being confused by coverage.

Not convinced we do...but Jerry seems to be "loading up" for it so...maybe last chance to show it.

Yes, and it will be nice to be able to have the deep ball back. Especially if we can establish the run, we should be able to use the deep ball especially through the PA much more effectively. That's typically when Dak is at his best.
We do not have the deep ball back ...yet. I'm a "show me' guy...so...Cowboys have to SHOW it on the field.

Is one season worth a 3rd round pick?

In twelve months the Cowboys will have neither the player nor the pick. They are renting a legitimate W2 for one season.

Since 2000, the Cowboys have used a 3rd round pick on a future Hall of Fame TE, a RB that broke the Cowboys single season rushing record and 12 other players that are currently on an NFL active roster.

They used their 3rd round pick a few weeks ago to take what many consider to be the steal of the draft.

Not only that, this action is a progress stopper for all their young WRs.

So while Stephen was claiming their WR2 was already on the roster, Jerry was trying his best to make a complete liar out of him?

The right hand hasn't been communicating with the left hand, typical Cowboys incompetence?

The Cowboys are still going to have to address the position in next year's draft. They can rule out using a 3rd round pick.
