TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

I just hope the Joneses aren't so determined to prove themselves right about Mingo that he's forced into the lineup ahead of Turpin. Turpin needs to be our main third receiver.
Mingo will have a chance to be wr 3. Tolbert better watch his back.

He will. I just think Turpin showed last year that we need him in the game. I didn't see anything from Mingo or Tolbert that tells me either will be a better option than Turpin. Now, we don't want to overuse Turpin, but we spent most of last year underusing him. Hopefully, what we're paying him and what No-Schott has said about him shows that we learned our lesson.

I mean, compensation like that. They have to re-sign him to a long term deal.
Not really. They could use the franchise tag on him over the next couple of years. It would actually be smarter than a long-term deal. The tag for WR in 2025 is $21M, but he's playing this season, the final year of his rookie deal, for about $4M. So if we tag after this season and again 2027 ....

current salary............................$4M
2026 franchise tag estimate $22.5M
2027 franchise tag estimate $23.3M

Total over 3 years $49.8M = an average of approx $16-17M per season

I am negative when I feel that negativity is appropriate, so I am no saint, but I am also positive when I am seeing actual progressive moves being made that are total positives for this franchise and cannot be denied.
This is a better overall team 2025.

If we had a track record like that torches would be lit . Btw, how does Tomlin continue to get a pass with this kind of track record? Just wondering.
Even though he picks all these guys, or has major input. He gets credit for cutting them loose once he finds out their issues.
