Some of you will never be positive, or happy about anything

My approach is to beat them up when the don't/do thighs they shouldn't or should and praise them when they do something positive.

Unfortunately they are on the losing side of that ledger consistently, which goes to the larger point of them not being very good at roster construction. Which ultimately means they need to so something different like bringing in someone to do that job (unlikely)

But this doesn't prevent me from acknowledging when they do something good.

Finish this statement. For me I’m going to say some of you will never be positive, or happy about anything. There’s no winning for you! When the drought is over, you will find a way to poop on it somehow someway…

Look, I’ve callled out Jerry and Sons as much as anyone the last year and a half and even for the better part of three decades. But don’t be so ridiculously pompous, that when they do something decent or that makes sense, you have to drag it in the dirt a few times before you’re Alishasatisfied that enough of you’re type of company is on the same page. Misery loves company!!!

We’ve been begging for this type of off-season for a lot of years. It’s been nonexistent. Most of you here either didn’t take economics, or didn’t do well in any type of applied mathematics, so you don’t understand the math behind the scenes. You gripe about everything because you have a lack of understanding. Theres no hope for this group. With what the FO has to work with, and what they must accomplish this off-season, they have actually done a good job so far in 25’. If you can’t say that now, you will have no right to change your tune , if the moves they have made this offseason prove to be successful!

My point with all of this is even if you are a hopeless fan, there can be days where you have to admit some decisions they make are a win for the team. You don’t have to continue the negativity to the point where you look like the person you’re claiming you hate! There will be plenty of reasons to do that later. Be happy when they actually do a good thing!!!
LFG!!!! I am :flagwave:

I get both sides of this, I really do.

On one hand it's very easy to be cynical after three decades of failure. I've been that way a LOT.

On the other hand, constantly being negative about everything only makes us feel worse.

Being optimistic and enthusiastic doesn't change facts, as others have said. But does being negative and miserable have a better effect? I understand that this is a place to vent, and nobody has a right to tell anyone else how to be a fan. That is not what I am doing here. But maybe if we just take football for what it is- entertainment- maybe we will all feel a little better. Football is just a game for us fans. It's not our job, and it's certainly not life and death.

I have experienced life and death firsthand and I know the difference. And trust me, it's nothing that happens on Sunday afternoons or Monday nights.

Ok, my semi-philosophical rant is over.

Objective and fair on this site is called being a homer to some lol.
:hammer:Exactly if we don't join the hate club and pick up our pitchfork and torch you know enjoying them we're homers apparently we're not allowed to actually say positive things about our own team... I will defend the star for life I don't care who the owner is who the GM is I don't care who the quarterback is i'm going to support this team no matter what people are like no you can't because that would benefit jerry you can't help Jerry all he is is about money he doesn't care...

That's not my concern I just get ready for September and I watch 17 games and I cheer them on till the very last seconds tick off the clock and then we can have an actual conversation about how the season went not guesses doom and gloom not you know for a fact they're going to have a bad year you know how every player is going to suck nope we watched the games we like the season in and then we can discuss how it went good bad or indifferent we can be honest...

This is like conversations I've been having a lot lately with Mavericks fans and I'm a Mavericks fan now i'm not quite the diehard Mavericks fan as I am a Cowboys fan I'm football fan first i'm a Longhorn and a cowboy after that I tried to split my attention between the other three teams in the Mavericks the stars and the Rangers in that order.

This is the crazy thing and I can't stand this so many people who are Mavericks fans ran out and bought Luca jerseys you know Laker Luca jerseys now I understand you're a Luca fan but also understand this is no different what if Michael Parsons or one of your favorite Dallas Cowboys left and went to the Eagles literally similar to what happened with Saikwan Barkley leaving the Giants and going to Philadelphia I wonder how many Giants fans bought Philadelphia jerseys with the name Barkley on the back because if they did they were never Giants fans and I'm a Mavericks fan and I have been programmed to hate the Lakers this is a rival it's been a long standing rival in the West there's no way I can root for the Lakers I understand that I'm supposed to be positive about Luca and I hope he has a great career but I don't want him to have good games I don't want the Lakers to succeed I'm sorry I'm not programmed that way I am an actual fan that I don't jump ship I don't leave and I have no conditions on my fandom I literally just watched the game I treat each season as a 1 off but man people who are now Lakers fans because Lucas there but they allegedly were Mavericks fans..

You will never convince me that you are an actual Mavericks fan if it was that easy for you to move to one of the most hated rivals in the West for Mavericks...

I mean I bet there is some people in here that if they love Micah Parsons or pick whoever you want on our team left and went to the Eagles they literally probably would buy an Eagles jersey and those are the people we're talking to right now we're talking at you if you're not a Cowboys fan you can't get on board with being a little bit positive and excited about the season I feel bad for you you don't sound like a real fan..

And yes you're allowed to be disappointed you're allowed to worry as a season going to go well you're allowed to say negative things but when 75% of this board is nothing but negativity and it just sounds like I walked into an eagles website instead like I went to the wrong place by accident because sometimes that's how it feels and that ain't right BUT too Each their own....

But you will never get me on your side of talking trash about my own team 24 hours a day it gets old II just not going to do it I don't think they're a Super Bowl caliber team this year but I do feel like it's going to be a better year than last year and that's all I can ask for anything else would be a bonus...

29 YEARS, 3 MONTHS, 9 DAYS AND COUNTING
So why can't some fans be happy for the positive changes going into the 2025 season.
They always bring up the 29 yards whine.
That is in the past. Look what is happening going into 2025.

I thought call out threads were against board rules............

So one side is allowed to call out the other but it doesn't go both ways??
This is funny. You call out posters anytime one of us make a positive post. :lmao2:

Objective and fair on this site is called being a homer to some lol.
Objective is not the word I’d use on either side. There are teams of posters on both ends and both have valid points at times. But objective is not what I’d say

There are objective people on this site. They just aren’t as vocal and hyperbolic as those other sides. But for sure there are subjective and balance posters here.

The Cowboys have the 8th best record in the NFL for the last 20 years. Now that’s not good enough as the goal is Super Bowls but to say “Unfortunately they are on the losing side of that ledger consistently, which goes to the larger point of them not being very good at roster construction” is disingenuous and just outright wrong.

So, why don't you quit eating and drinking it? Seriously, the game should be fun, if it pisses you off. Why bother with it? I get the, I've been a fan for 40 years....but, I used to like ketchup, I don't anymore...so I don't bother buying it or putting it on my food.
wonder where in the world do you get these strange thoughts.

In the end its simple Ranching:
I am a fan not a blind cheerleader

Does anyone have any hard evidence other than the Dez no-catch vs Green Bay about refs and Dallas in playoffs?

If Jerry wants to hang at rim and wants early playoff exits for money...I would assume refs have been against us in our playoff losses?

Assuming all is real, paying refs to work against Dallas foe early exits should be noticeable.

I don't have a good memory, only Dez non-catch comes to mind. I know Quinns defense got murdered one year, don't recall the refs.

My point is, why be miserable if Jerry isn't trying to win and is focused on engaging the fan base with hanging at the rim and early playoff losses?

only for those like you that have lower standards
