Some of you will never be positive, or happy about anything

Finish this statement. For me I’m going to say some of you will never be positive, or happy about anything. There’s no winning for you! When the drought is over, you will find a way to poop on it somehow someway…

Look, I’ve callled out Jerry and Sons as much as anyone the last year and a half and even for the better part of three decades. But don’t be so ridiculously pompous, that when they do something decent or that makes sense, you have to drag it in the dirt a few times before you’re Alishasatisfied that enough of you’re type of company is on the same page. Misery loves company!!!

We’ve been begging for this type of off-season for a lot of years. It’s been nonexistent. Most of you here either didn’t take economics, or didn’t do well in any type of applied mathematics, so you don’t understand the math behind the scenes. You gripe about everything because you have a lack of understanding. Theres no hope for this group. With what the FO has to work with, and what they must accomplish this off-season, they have actually done a good job so far in 25’. If you can’t say that now, you will have no right to change your tune , if the moves they have made this offseason prove to be successful!

My point with all of this is even if you are a hopeless fan, there can be days where you have to admit some decisions they make are a win for the team. You don’t have to continue the negativity to the point where you look like the person you’re claiming you hate! There will be plenty of reasons to do that later. Be happy when they actually do a good thing!!!
One thing would make me extremely happy:
Jerry sells the team!
Problem solved!
Or he could just step down and hire a real GM.
See, I am easy to please!

Until the Cowboys win another SB most fans won’t be happy with the team. Its championship or bust for many fans.
The bar was officially lowered to just reaching an NFC Championship game several years ago.

Since every single NFC team has now reached one since Dallas's last one its not that much to ask imo.

I think the draft, while not the way I would have went, got good players who make the team better. A potential stud guard helps a lot. A potential edge rusher who’s shown some nice stuff on tape helps the team a lot. I’m more excited about the RB potential than most are. If we can run the ball this offense can be really good. We still are weak in the DT spit but we had a lot of holes and we found solid options for more of them than I expected. I think we stole a really good CB. Pickens is the best WR2 we’ve had in a long time. Other than dragging out the Micah deal I think the off season, while not fixing everything, got pretty solid options for more to fix several things

that is the absolute minimum for me. Getting to a conference champ game. To me that qualifies as a good or successful season. Short of that, its a disappointment for me.

are the changes going to make this team into a superbowl team? are the changes have long term vision and a plan? or are the changes done in silo, one year solutions and then worry about next year and next year's move? where is the plan? what is the plan? how are we closer to being a superbowl team? some of you all are hanging a banner and putting a trade trophy on the mantle...that's called lowering the bar....

Every decision has potential & risk. It's only natural for people to see both sides. It's also only natural for those viewpoints to be discussed on a fan forum. Objective fans can, for example, believe the Pickens signing is a move to add talent and that it could pay off handsomely while also understanding there are reasons it could be a complete disaster.

It's not negative to address the obvious questions. It's being a realist.

There is always a right balance, but those that are always negative its hard to take their opinion seriously. Frankly, even outside of football positivity and being able to be objective is one of the top qualities I have hired for. No one wants to associate with a person thats regularly negative.

Lowering the bar. Another disliker fan myth and cop out. A cop out not to want to see that improvements have been made.
Lowering the bar is a way of saying, let me stay miserable and not look at the good side of things. But yet blame the positive fans for it all, of being content. Well they are not. But they do not live in misery either.

Changes have been made and are being made. Where have you been?
Can’t do it all in one night. But in a season teams have turned it around unexpectedly.

there is a 65 page thread on the trade. there are actually multiple threads. there are a few who are putting up banners and hanging the trade trophy....
yet, when somebody asks how does this make us a superbowl contender, its that we are a disliker, hater, cop out. etc.

lowering the bar is celebrating and salivating and pumping sunshine 24x7 because we made a trade for a one year rental. lowering the bar is celebrating regular season wins and ranking that we are 8th in the past 20 years in regular season wins, ignoring the post season futility of the past 30 years....lowering the bar is to make yourself feel good because of a trade celebrating incessantly.... while all other successful teams are focused on winning superbowls and measuring themselves that way... we celebrate and hang banners for a trade.
so yeah, sorry I am not drinking the koolaid and jumping up and down and screaming from rooftops because we made a trade.

and what changes? what results? can you point to the results....so before you celebrate our domination, perhaps you may want to wait a little bit.

so to answer your comment "can't do it all in one night". its not been one night. its been 30 years...where have you been?

I usually agree with you jazz and I think we had a good off season but the same thing you said was said last year, the year before that, the year before that and will most likely be said next year.
I don’t think anyone said that last year. And most did not say it the year before. Except the super always everything is ok fans. Which I am not one of, much to some fans believing.

Just because fans have positive things to say each year. Which I do find positives and negatives. Does not mean they say the same thing year after year. I did not find much positive off season moves last year.

But to say that, to me is far better than the alternative to be miserable.
I rather be positive and then when they fail, they fail. Instead of going 365 days a year …we are losers we are losers.

be a homer. hang a banner. put up the Trade Trophy on the mantle. enjoy it. but don't question me if I don't celebrate like you do...you agreed with the OP and he is telling everyone that they should celebrate and be happy.
Why the hell do you question me, then....tough guy
Can't take it, stay out of my posts. Be miserable, sounds like you deserve it

And there it is again. 30 years 30 years 30 years. It is the argument you all keep going on and on about.
I am talking about going into the new season. This is this year, not the past 30 years.

Yes it sucks and is horrible we have not been to a NFCCG for that long. I understand that. I do not like it either.
But I look at going into this season as it unfolds. That is the fun of being a fan. I refuse to let the past make me miserable.

Wow...you know everyone...all of them....so well. Interesting.

I'd say you're in the same boat...you ain't happy. A happy person wouldn't post this nonsense.

The thing is one common denominator in those 30 years is still running the team. This year as well. Im happy with the draft for the most part an do like Pickens skill but im questioning how he will be as a player. Diva or teammate. Question the d line non moves.

Jerry went for the glitter move with Pickens. Id rather he shore up d line .
