Thank you Jerry

You’re assuming he’s a 1 year rental.

Would you rather them stay pace and roll out Mingo? Gross.

This was a slam dunk for Dallas.

If it doesn’t work and he isn’t signed they’ll get a nice compensatory pick.

Are we a championship team? I’d say no but there is now hope to be a legit NFC team.

Last year was not even watchable.

The defense won’t suck. The pass rush is going to be elite unless Eberflus just refuses to scheme and plays bend don’t break.
first, I had said it from day 1, Mingo trade was utterly stupid, useless trade. we got fleeced big time...again.

and if he is not a one year rental, then you traded a pick to get a WR, then pay him like 30M a year (assuming he plays great, because if he doesn't then this is a disaster of a trade). so now pay 60+ of cap for two WRs.....

last year was unwatchable. the year before in the playoffs, it was unwatchable. the year before that and the year before that. we had the #2 offense in the league and fizzled out of playoffs because the defense sucks. we can't stop the run and got abused three years straight with teams running the ball down our throat. and instead we drafted a RG with the 12th pick and trade for a WR!!!

I guess to you, getting to playoffs is the Cowboys championship! we are not a legit NFC team until we fix this defense.

On the receiver pecking order, just where does that player even sit here and now. Not worried with either a year or nay, myself.

Mingo is below turpin and Tolbert. right now he sits 5th....his production has been below both of those players.

I assume you will say he never had a chance in Carolina, because they are bad and don't have the QB, etc. even there, he was 6th among their WRs and 10th in receiving, even below Sanders who was a part time RB on the same team. he has had 0, that's ZERO TDs in three years in the league. he couldn't even get an accidental TD...dead last on his team.

Mingo trade was a stupid trade.

Pickens is second in pecking order. on a one year rental, for a team that will not win the superbowl, and nor even good enough to get to the CCG. and then he is gone. so we traded down two picks to get a one year rental, just to at best make the playoffs and make fans happy and then everyone can just continue to pile on Dak...and jerry getting through yet another year.

if he happens to ball out and we resign him. that would be over 60M allocated to WR1, WR2.... and the defense would still suck.

They made a move that made us better. Stop whining.

It made us better for one year. No trophies again. 2026 go back to signing JAGs...hope it's an OK year and wash rinse repeat.

Off season and regular season trophies are for losers.

If they sign him then great. If they don’t then they should get a nice compensatory pick that nearly matches what they gave up.

the compensatory pick would be much lower than the one they gave up....for a one year rental, to end up with empty hands yet again. was this a championship move?

and if they sign him...several things can happen. he has an average year, gets disgruntled because he is not getting the ball and signs somewhere else. lower comp pick for a lower contract he may get. he plays average and we resign him, so we have an average player with a large contract (not super large like CD). both of those are lose lose situations. you can get average WRs in mid rounds for much less money.

or he plays great. he wants top market money, lets say around 30-34M...which means we may sign him and have 64M invested in WRs...show me which teams have that and what's their result. or he signs somewhere else, which takes us back to one year rental and trading down for nothing (perhaps fans enjoyment for one season, which is the ultimate Jerry goal anyway).

there is no high upside to this trade if we are not a superbowl ready team. this is a move that a team being one player away makes. not a team full of holes.

Sure, but it doesn't change the fact that the effort is there, unlike last year. I said this all last year. If he makes an effort and it doesn't work, then fine. At least he tried. When he was giving no/minimal effort like last year, then I'm going to be much harsher. This is the NFL. I can understand moves not working. At least I can see effort.
I think that’s fair. There is much to critique about this trade. But you can’t miss if you don’t take a swing.

TBD if this is a good deal or trade. But at least Jethro is swinging. I suppose that’s progress over last year.

Thank you Jerry and staff...
both Lamb and Pickens get it!

Lamb shared a cryptic message on social media about "ego" which many took as a comment about his excitement to have Pickens join the team.

"Kid you not; can’t express it enough. It’s no ego here," Lamb wrote on X.

Critics of the Pickens trade point to his alleged immaturity and alleged locker room distractions, but that doesn't appear to be worrying Lamb.

As long as the two players are on the same page, everyone is going to feast.

Perhaps if the team heads up the playoffs there will be reasonable contract negotiations.

This trade makes our offense dangerous.

We should have one of the better offenses in the NFL now with this trade.

The defense needs work for sure but the pass rush should be elite & if we get 1 or 2 surprises on that side of the ball then we may be better than we think.

Dallas will be pushing to contend all year because of this move.

Great great move by our front office.

I don’t know what the long term plan is & don’t really care. We got a lot better.

It’s better than going into this season with CD as our only legit weapon.

Pickens benefits everyone & everything on the field.

Tolbert / Mingo out wide.

Lamb in the slot.

Pickens out wide as the X.

We will have e a good offense. High scoring offense. But are we a championship team? Defense needs work. So a one year rental for a team.that is not one player away.

Are we going to be able to compete in the playoffs. History of teams lacking a defense say we will not. But you are happy that we are in 0layoffs and probably one and done.

And then what about next year? If Pickens is gone. Or he wants a 30M contract.

Defense wins championships
Offense is sexy and gets fans excited.
We had #1 offense two years ago and got our arse handed to us at home. Detroit had a great offense and Washington just abused the. I. Playoffs.

There may be value in explaining successes instead of just figuring out failure disjointed from what is going on upon the carpet.

Defense won championships when the league didn’t completely nerf NFL defenses.

Defense is the new special teams. Deal with it.

The Cowboys are considerably better on paper and some of you are mad about it lol.

Players win games. We got one.

The Cowboys culture in the 90s involved a lot of things worse than a bad attitude by a WR.
This coming from the guy who said parsons was a terrible pick and he wasn’t going to be any good.

Your ability to grade players shouldn’t be taken seriously on this board. At all.

Brad Kaaya over Mahomes was another absolute GEM of insight from you.

really? so Eagles #1 defense dominating Mahomes in the superbowl all game was a special teams thing.
How about KC not scoring more than 30 point one game all 2024, yet go 15-2? because their defense was nothing but special teams
KC was 2nd in defense in 2023....SF was 3rd. KC offense was 15th in scoring 2023

yeah, defense is nothing but special teams...its more like you are special.....

dude, you can't be this dense and this stupid....you just can't. please don't post comments like that. everyone is laughing at you
