CW: DJ Reader Projected to be Cowboys Target

Not rumours at all this is just one reporters opinion that they should target him. SMH false title giving me fake hope.

Sanborn and Murray are now considered dawgs?

You're the same guy that told me that Overshown. Liufau and Kendricks would be an area of strength......you were wrong and should admit as such

Credibility and ownership counts here
Don't put words in my mouth. The 4 DAWGS are Pickens, Booker, Donovan Ezeiruaku, and Revel. Those are the DAWGS. Remember, credibility and ownership counts here.

Reader?

Yeah, he should fit right in. Is there another starting DT in this league that better personifies mediocrity?

Then again, last season was his best as a pass rusher, 3 sacks.

Legend has it that he once forced a fumble. I researched and indeed, I can confirm it did happen....once.

A 30 year old former 5th round draft pick, zero Pro Bowls. How is that an upgrade?

He is good against the run and considered to be a good player.

He is at the age for DTs where "was" is a more appropriate description than "is".

I would wonder if his usefulness is proportional to his salary. In a league that passes more than runs, I also wonder what a rotation would look like.

On the other hand, he could help provide competition and be helpful in the event of another injury epidemic.

I'm not really against it. I just don't see him as someone that can provide a measurable impact.

Hey he's probably as good as Jonathan hankins or Linville Joseph.
Pretty much anything would be an upgrade from what we have now

If someone would please explain why they have no issue handing out draft picks to acquire veterans but are nowhere to be found when players can be had for money only in March.
Contracts. They generally can get the player for less contractwise by trading for him. For example, if Pickens had been a free agent, he would have commanded around $30 million per year. By trading for him, they get to take a look at him for $3.6 million before deciding if he's one of our own worth keeping.

Murray is costing us $7.5 million when he probably would have been at least $10 million on the market. Elam is $2.5 million, so he would have easily gotten more than that. Milton is $960,000 and we've got him under contract for two more years after that for relatively cheap.

Lions might have to eat it and release him. They have too many guys they are paying and will need to pay. The math says a couple big names must get traded or released. But don't expect Dallas to make any major moves. I think we are done .
I don't see why they need to get rid of him. They have a potentially strong four-man rotation with Reader, McNeil, Tyleik Williams and Onwuzurike. It's not like they are going to keep fewer than four DTs.

They have 3 NTs.

Reader is a stud. I think you didn't do your research.
