He's going to have to shake off a lot of rust. Hopefully that gets taken care of in training camp as we know Dak doesn't play in preseason games.
These guys get 10 times the reps in camps and practice then they do almost the entire season, you think they don't throw the ball a lot in training camp OTA's minicamp, practicing on the side, dak actually has a half a field in his backyard, you don't think he gets all the reps...
something nobody wants to bring up,
In 2020 he nearly had his ankle snapped off literally couldn't be much worse of an injury for a quarterback especially one that semi-mobile everyone's talking about he wasn't going be ready for the season he's never will be the same, yada yadda yada
and he had one of his best seasons ever at 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions so why don't we let the coaches decide how many reps he needs and not expose them in preseason I'm all for letting the coaches decide if he needs time in preseason or just get him about 4 times the amount of reps he's gonna get in any preseason games together probably in two days of practice.
Seriously 7 on 7,11 on 11, scrimmages,
I mean these guys are throwing the ball a lot like way more than they even throw during the regular season... What a quarterbacks throw over an entire season between 400 and 600 balls?
MVP runner up all pro In the 2023 NFL season, Dak Prescott had 614 attempts at passing. He completed 392 of them, resulting in 4,516 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. His passer rating for the season was 105.9
So now I'm betting they throw more than that in TC. Not sure where the rust was in that year or 2020 I mean people are talking about the first game while everyone's going to look like they're not in game form for at least 1/2 you can't simulate full games not even in preseason and why would you expose your quarterback at year 9 to any unnecessary damage?
