FEATURED It's official: Cowboys vs Eagles in NFL Opener

Dak is a QB who needs reps. I hope they give him real time in the preseason. He has come out flat in the game opener when not given reps.
This is not true at all but hey you keep narratives like that going and there'll be people like me coming in to shut it down he sure didn't look rusty against that Tampa Bay team that eventually won the Super Bowl and Bradys first year there he went toe to toe with Brady so let's how about this how about how the offensive line come out not flat how about the running game come out not flat how about not open the game with an easy touchdown from the defense how about I have six penalties in about 15 minutes and get behind the chains all day that is what happens in those games you're describing he looks flat.

It is what it is he doesn't need anymore reps you know many reps these guys get through all the mini camps camps training camp like they get 10 times the amount of reps somehow you guys tell me that say the 30 reps over a couple of games at most is somehow going to set them up for the regular season game one more than all of training camp yo when he scrimmages and 7 on 7 that they play how many reps did they throw balls they don't say it's not against live full speed competition is that what you think you see in preseason against spare parts I mean so our starter has to risk injury coming off an injury because you think he needs more reps after 9 years in the league and I'll have all offseason to get as many reps as he wants but sure we should put him at harm's way because you think so...

I say it's untrue and he came off a major injury in 2020 and in 2021 through 30 seven touchdowns and ten interceptions how's that for rust how is that for coming back off an injury how's that for letting the coaching staff decide if they play him in preseason at all and expose him to an unnecessary injury I don't care about the 4 or 5 quarterbacks and that's probably at most of veterans see 15 to 30 snaps in the preseason game and how that's going to help their whole season did that help Patrick Mahomes not get his **** beat in the Super Bowl 19 or 20 weeks after game one and by the way Patrick Mahomes hasn't looked good in two years I mean he still looked solid but he hasn't lived his own reputation so all those reps and preseason how little they are isn't technically helping his game because they won more with the run game and defense and coaching the last two years and then depending on Patrick Mahomes to do it all...

My number one question is whether Brian Schottenheimer can instill real, four quarter, grit into this team. Win or lose. It is something not seen from this team for many seasons.

A team that will get hit in its mouth and hit back harder. Slug it out. Do not play finesse ball. Be brawlers, on both sides of the line, from kickoff to the final gun. And have a 'take no prisoners approach' if overtime is warranted too.

A win is always wanted. Seasons are not lost on opening day after a loss. Show you want to win it all out of the gate. Demonstrate the necessary wins are coming down the road.

Like I said yesterday, I'd rather play the Giants on SNF again than start the season in Philly.

With luck the Cowboys can keep it close. Big longshot to win.

He's going to have to shake off a lot of rust. Hopefully that gets taken care of in training camp as we know Dak doesn't play in preseason games.
These guys get 10 times the reps in camps and practice then they do almost the entire season, you think they don't throw the ball a lot in training camp OTA's minicamp, practicing on the side, dak actually has a half a field in his backyard, you don't think he gets all the reps...

something nobody wants to bring up,

In 2020 he nearly had his ankle snapped off literally couldn't be much worse of an injury for a quarterback especially one that semi-mobile everyone's talking about he wasn't going be ready for the season he's never will be the same, yada yadda yada
and he had one of his best seasons ever at 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions so why don't we let the coaches decide how many reps he needs and not expose them in preseason I'm all for letting the coaches decide if he needs time in preseason or just get him about 4 times the amount of reps he's gonna get in any preseason games together probably in two days of practice.
Seriously 7 on 7,11 on 11, scrimmages,
I mean these guys are throwing the ball a lot like way more than they even throw during the regular season... What a quarterbacks throw over an entire season between 400 and 600 balls?
MVP runner up all pro In the 2023 NFL season, Dak Prescott had 614 attempts at passing. He completed 392 of them, resulting in 4,516 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. His passer rating for the season was 105.9
So now I'm betting they throw more than that in TC. Not sure where the rust was in that year or 2020 I mean people are talking about the first game while everyone's going to look like they're not in game form for at least 1/2 you can't simulate full games not even in preseason and why would you expose your quarterback at year 9 to any unnecessary damage?
