This quote courtesy of former NFL receiver TJ Houshmandzedah but there are other interesting ones in the article from Tom Pelissero and Jeff Howe of the Athletic.

“George Pickens had stepped over and crossed the line a bit too many times and I know people that play with the Steelers. He’d be late for the team plane that would be flying out to away games multiple times. He’d be late to get on the team bus and they had enough of it,”

I’d rather know people that play for the Steelers. Lol.

He'll fit right in. All he has to do is by pass his coach and go straight to Jerry just like all the other knuckle heads have. On a serious note, I don't think he will risk a bag.

He landed at the right spot. Jerry’s cowboys aren’t known for their tight standards behind the scenes.

Chronic lateness is something people have to reprogram themselves out of. We've probably all known people who are always late everywhere they go. Some of them just seem to accept that that is just the way it is, that they can't help it.

He'll probably be on his best behavior. His next contract is totally dependent on it.
I'm not sure 1 year will be enough..........in other words, I'm wanna see his best behavior for 2 straight years before offering him a long-term deal.

I think it's safe to say they know exactly what they are getting with Pickens......

Both the team and Pickens himself would have to be on board with executing the trade, with the receiver headed into a contract year. And the prospect does exist where Pickens is on the move again in 2026, with Dallas protected to a degree in that the Cowboys would get a comp pick back if he leaves via free agency.
Then, there’s looking into the reasons he was available in the first place. The Cowboys did their homework there, too, as they always would, going back into their reports on him from the 2022 draft, pulling on connections at Georgia, and also whatever they could gather from Pickens’s three years in Pittsburgh (Stephen Jones and Mike Tomlin served together on the competition committee). What they came back with was an assessment that Pickens was fiery in a lot of ways, and hope that he could grow in a new environment.

Sometimes immaturity and frustration come out in negative ways like this. Hopefully, he will be more on board what is happening in Dallas and put this behind him.
