Chiefs/Cowboys on Thanksgiving day

What's funny is Florio says it might break the record for regular season watchers. He says it is because the Chiefs have been good for so long and because Dallas is also a good draw. Uh, I am pretty sure Dallas is still the best draw...week in and week out our games are among the highest rated.

Excellent accounting of what being a fan means to YOU.

You rightfully expect that you are free to be a fan in the way that suits you. The disconnect comes when you start criticizing "some fans" for being the version of a fan that suits THEM. You expect that you should be able to fan in the way that suits you, but actively condemn and criticize "some fans" for fanning in the way that suits them. For some reason you and a handful of others seem to take it personally when someone takes what can appear to be a negative outlook, then you lash out with a passive aggressive comment seemingly intended to exhibit your superiority as a fan. It's not the end of the world that others have a different opinion.

Just because a fan forms a negative opinion based on the realities they have witnessed over decades, doesn't mean they go into watching a game in a state of "gloom and doom", or "depression". This seems to be another common denominator among the need to be positive crowd. You/they assume the worst possible emotional state of the antagonist and use it against them as if it were a fact.

As far as the team goes. There are some foundational aspects of this team that have consistently failed over an extended period. The result of that is some fans are very likely going to recognize the pattern and adopt an attitude that leans more towards 'show me' than hopeful. There is nothing wrong with that and it seems the prudent thing to do.

When you start making it about the poster and not the post you are getting way out over your skis and that almost always ends up in a 'yard sale'.

This forum is my go-to place for Cowboy info, but its turned in to a sewer of loser mentality.
Negative Nancy's with too much time on their hands, and anyone reading the nearly uniformly negative threads know that to be the truth.
Having sat through the Staubach's flowering against Craig Morton ,The Longley TD to Drew, the Danny White disappointments, the Jimmy/Jerry Friday night dinner at Mia's,the Herschel Walker trade,The Romo 5 turnover win over Buffalo,The Giants upsets over the #1 seed Cowboys and the undefeated Patriot's and the privilege of watching 52-17 over Buffalo in Pasadena in 1992.....knows this the NFL is unpredictable by its nature and the season will be a wealth of surprises. No one knew the Chiefs couldn't handle the Eagles pass rush just last February and the Cowboys outplayed the Commodes twice last season with Cooper Rush.
It's an injury driven league, stay positive in May.... just be grateful your team is playing in big games at big moments.

Good, a traditional Cowboys and Indians for Thanksgiving
Those were some of the best,,, ol Crazy Ray on the sidelines fighting with the Skinz mascot. Good times!

I've never been to a home Cowboys game but when I do splurge I think it will be a Thanksgiving game, maybe a luxury booth if things fall in place for me, and against the hated rivals Washington or Philthy.

0-30 is a pretty good sampling. With our management not changing, I think it is quite predictable what will happen. Jerry isn't Bill Polian or George Young.

There are just certain teams we don't beat: the Chiefs, Broncos, and Cardinals are the immediate 3 that pop into my head.
Teams that are middle of the road are middle of the road because they are incapable of sustaining a steady high level of play and the Dallas Cowboys are very much a middle of the road team.

Ah man they really are making Dallas do back to back division road games to end the season. Wow.

Had a feeling they weren’t going to allow a Dal/Phil matchup to be potentially meaningless.

Swift and Johnson aren't too bad. I think the difference will be at QB. Bears QB will be much better than last year.
hadenough, ive been following your posts and you know your stuff and you have a good handle on this team.
can we please get to 11 wins? any chance buddy?

Nice post brother,

There's definitely no need for all the negative speculation.

The NFL is constantly changing and just when you think you have it all figured out things turn out 100% the opposite and your left wondering just how did that happen.
So at this point all the trash talk and bold negative statements is just a huge pile of BS .

The games have to be played and we have no idea what the circumstances will be when these games are played and intelligent fans know that circumstances alter cases.

We have made a much better effort this year to improve the team so it would stand to reason that fans would be a little more positive in the off season and look forward to the challenges ahead.

At some point the national audience is going to get bored watching us get stuffed repeatedly.
