Are the Dallas Cowboys still America's Team?

It's a moniker that fans of all teams yearn to have, and that's why there's so much discussion and debate on the subject. Jones has the moniker trademarked, but anyone can call their team America's Team if it makes them feel better. :)

The Chiefs are Americas Team. They have replaced the Cowboys. Everyone loves Mahomes.
It's true that many fans love the whole Mahomes/Kelsey/Swift thing that's happening but the point somebody was making is that they will lose that nationwide support when that trio is gone or not winning Super Bowls.......but with the Cowboys the nationwide fandom has stayed for 40 plus years regardless of SBs or star players.

The Chiefs support is a mile long but only a quarter of an inch deep

I get what ur saying:

People been referencing Barney Fife and PeeWee Herman for decades too.

Just because something is talked about, doesn't necessarily make it flattering...
It's not that there just talked about, it's also that this question is asked nearly every year. If they weren't America's team, some other team would have been crowned and that would be the comparison point for future debates. The fact that no matter who they try to say is America's team in any given year, the debate ALWAYS comes back to the Cowboys.

Cowherd is clueless. Dallas drives the ratings in the NFL like no other team. Even when they are mediocre, they will draw more eyeballs to the tv than Cincy or Buffalo.

Why do someone every season ask this dumb question. That name belongs to the Dallas Cowboys only no other team can have that name.

America’s Team is the Lakers. Way more fans and actually had recent success. They receive far more support from their league as well. If the NFL has to have a representative, I’d say the Patriots or Chiefs are probably more deserving than Dallas atp. You can count the number of Cowboys fans under 40 years old on one hand.
lol no
Not enough nba following for them to be America’s team

The NBA / NHL playoffs are happening and baseball has started.

Do they really have this little to talk about right now?
Yes, because the schedule is out ,and because we're America's team.. that's why..

they've been talking about the Cowboys all week before the schedule release after the schedule release... I mean they make a big deal as well as you do about the stupid glare coming through the stadium look they find a way to attach the Cowboys to one of their stories they're going to...

If you're wondering why the Cowboys are still America's team if you have any question that's why them mentioning just the name it draws clicks ratings and it helps their cause....

And by the way I know there are lots of basketball fans out there lots of baseball and some hockey fans but football is still king in a lot of places you can hate the NFL all you want and Roger Goodell but they're marketing this product about high level it's at full speed and going right now it's going to be talked about no matter what time of the year it is especially though that schedules are out the draft happened camps are starting to ramp up so yeah they're talking about the NFL as well...

prior to the chiefs was the pats. then it will be someone else.

we all know who the real answer is though. even if you ask a hater they’ll roll their eyes and say.. “who? the cowboys?”

lol we are Americas Team

Well...the issue is....only cowboy fans are asking the question.

It's like saying "there's a debate whether Boise Idaho is the best city in the world every year"... but the only people re-asking that question is people who live in Boise Idaho.

Only Cowboy fans keep re-asking this question, and bad news people trying to create content and hot takes for themselves. Other NFL fanbases just kind of snicker at it or ignore it, or even have no clue about it.....just like you and I ignore Raider fans when they're acting like they're the "bad boys of the NFL" that has all the swagger and SCARES everyone. But in reality....nobody but Raider fans gives a moment's thought about that... they're irrelevant to us. They live with a fictitious perception of themselves....based in the past....and it's just kinda sad, and it's basically just with 40 and 50 year old dudes and older.

Same thing with us. The America's Team question will always be asked, because it will be asked by us. Until we all die out...then the question will die out.

I never hear Cowboy fans ask that questions...only respond to it. It's the talking heads that raise it e.g. the two videos in the OP.

Agree totally.
Americans are like spoiled brats - they go for whatever is shiny. Always want the new popular toy. Front runners, bandwagon jumpers on. "Americas Team" is whomever is winning now. Period.
As far as the Cowboys being that still, NO - thats long over now - its been a long time since the 1970s and Tom Landry's glory days teams.
Patriots definitely deserved that distinction for how long they were on top, especially in a much harder to win in SALARY CAP ERA.
I would agree it has now shifted to the Chiefs. But, maybe that because of where I live. Im in St Louis and many here have become Chiefs fans since we haven't had an NFL team, so I see Chiefs fans all the time now.

ESPN's First Things First and Fox's Colin Cowherd say no.

The “America’s Team” moniker is something the players don’t embrace. At least the old school players. It’s more of a fan and media thing. I’ve never liked it since its creation by Bob Ryan of NFL Films. I hope it goes away.

Now some of your points and people's points around here would be much more valid, hold more weight if you didn't exaggerate to the 10th extreme..

I can find five in my neighborhood, I can find two in my family.

so would you like to bet your house that I can find 5 Cowboys fans under forty years old, and I can do it quickly. But I'd be happy to take your house..
You're underestimating the fact that there's a lot of families out there that passed down that gene, including my sister and brother-in-law are both Cowboys fans and both my nephews who are 10 and 1 that just turned 21 both are hard- core Dallas cowboy fans.. Unfortunately, she raised them both as Texas AM junkies, and as a Longhorn fan that hurts as an uncle but at least their Cowboys fans..lol

So are there less young Dallas Cowboy fans and there used to be when they were winning big, sure ,but we've all grown up some of those were us I've been a fan since I was 10 years old, I'm now 55.

So, let's calm down with the excessive hyperbole....it doesn't help your debates.

Now that's the mistake you're making and that's the mistake a lot of people here are making by trying to say that the Cowboys are no longer that no the Americas team moniker stays win lose or draw they were deemed that and it can't be taken away it's not something to win this isn't the Super Bowl this isn't the NFC championship being the best team in the NFC this is not something you can have or take....

This was inherited it was earned and now it sticks it's there forever I hate to break it to you it doesn't bounce around that is not what he was intended for....

Just because your debate belittles the Cowboys because they're not what they once were that's not the debate we're having about America's team they are America's team they will always be America's team and they will always be one of the most popular teams on the planet and that is why and yes I said planet hell I wouldn't be shocked if there were other planets and somehow they picked up on our satellites they're also Cowboys fans yes they're alien cowboy fans...LOL

And just because we have some bandwagon fans you're talking about that's willing to jump to the next shiny thing that is not what we call a hard core cowboy fan like right now I am being you are not taking nor can you ever take America's team moniker away from the Dallas Cowboys..

But here's a little fun fact this little drought raining and yes it's little because the Kansas City Chiefs took 56 years to win their title from the last one... There are teams out there that have no Super Bowl appearances that others have no Super Bowl wins...

How the Cleveland Browns haven't even had a division title since 1989 so let's calm down on how the Cowboys have fallen so far..

explain how it is that it's been nearly 30 years or more since we've been to an NFC championship game in 11 spends since 1996 that we haven't won a Super Bowl and we've seen teams go on runs we've seen others not it's sporadic when a team wins a Super Bowl but the Cowboys are still top three in Super Bowl wins they're still top three and overall Super Bowl appearances

Through all this time they still remained in the top because it is that hard to do..... This notion that there's such a big gap now between when the Cowboys were winning big and when other teams get it and start winning again I mean it was 1960 until 2017 when the Eagles got their first very first and only Super Bowl went up until last year you you want to do the math?

I don't think you do because the debate is just that the Cowboys will again win another Super Bowl they're already still remain in the top five in Subaru wins and the reason they're in prime time all the time is because they have been all time still in win percentage they're up there I don't remember what it is it might be top five or top 10 in history in the history of the NFL they still remain high in win percentage.

The regular season win percentage since 2000 they're still in the top ten and in the last five years they're still in the top six the Cowboys may not be winning big but they're staying relative relative enough that they're still part of the conversation that anyone has on social media or on any of the sports TV shows they literally are mentioned almost daily almost hourly and that is why they're America's team...
