Eberflus plays a lot of two-linebacker lineups, so it's hard to say. Based on cost, I would think he'd want Kenneth Murray Jr. to be one of those LBs. The other likely comes down to Sanborn and Liufau. His defenses are generally near the top in 4-2-5 usage.

Overview​

Average inside linebacker between the tackles and much more limited when the play flows out into space. Sanborn lacks the length and athleticism desired of an NFL linebacker, but he's technically sound and in his element as a face-up tackler when the action flows downhill at him. He's tough and plays with good recognition of run-scheme design to help him play faster, but he's unlikely to out-muscle or out-athlete NFL competition. Sanborn has the potential to land a backup role at inside linebacker.

Strengths​

  • Adequate toughness and strength to play inside.
  • Reads and pursues with good pad level.
  • Plays with instant run-scheme recognition.
  • Can beat the runner to designed run lanes.
  • Steps in and constricts the gap when possible.
  • Connects hands and feet to rid himself of blocker.
  • Thud power to stand and stop the runner.
  • Toggles between spot dropper and blitzer on third downs.

Weaknesses​

  • Marginal slide quickness from tackle to tackle.
  • False keys can pull him out of position.
  • Field influence diminishes outside the box.
  • Sluggish when forced to change direction.
  • Lacks the reactive athleticism to mirror and tackle slashers.
  • Rush pressures primarily generated by scheme.

Sean Lee when healthy was one of the best LBs in football.

Sanborn is not that. Jeeze why can’t we just speak the truth on this site?

You know who Bland reminds me of? Deion sanders. Because I said so. And he gets a lot of pick 6s.

do you really believe all that you realize these write ups can be very wrong i've seen some Heisman and Trophy winning players that came out of college that had great write ups great combines and they failed hard fell on their face and never succeeded...

I wonder what Johnny Manzel's write up look like i'm very curious.. I know this any draft that allows a player like Tom Brady Terrell Davis the likes of Kurt Warner and Tony Romo and Brock Purdy to slip or almost fall out of the draft makes me know that these overviews and write ups are just opinions some of these players will outperform any of their initial overviews and these write ups because people just didn't see it...

You think Fred Warner went 3rd round in the draft he was a ninth linebacker taken you think that he's a ninth linebacker now? Do you like to go back and show me what they're right ups were?/

I get why you did it but I like to challenge people stop pasting and cutting opinions doesn't matter what I saw some of those videos what I've seen from him so far and what I know if Matt Like him enough to bring him to Chicago and then bring him from Chicago to here he's better than that right up the video shows he's better than that write up he may not be a pro bowler he may not be a Hall of Famer but when I saw in those videos is a really good player a solid player sometimes that's all your team needs to be made up with players that know their roles and execute their roles to exactly what their coaches ask them to do..

i'll say again you really believe all these write ups you've really get suckered into this stuff how about this for Bucky Irving.. So if you believe everything you read this player who dropped in the draft because of this kind of crap it literally says he's only going to be a good average backup is that what actually happened in the NFL? Dude look like a rookie of the year starting running back for an NFL team and crazy huh crazy out these write-ups are wrong a lot..

Overview​

Compact and willful, Irving is deeply committed to each run his play-caller trusts him with. He punches above his weight class with excellent contact balance and leg drive to fight through tackles and squeeze every yard out of the run. However, Irving showed a concerning lack of explosiveness at the NFL Scouting Combine. He is frequently in a rush and would rather run through a wall than around it but he does have the agility to make tacklers miss with wide, lateral cuts when he runs with better patience. Irving isn’t ready for NFL protection duties and is a little tight as a route runner, but he catches the ball cleanly. Irving is missing ideal size and explosiveness, which could land him somewhere in the middle rounds of the draft as an average backup.

Strengths​

  • Built low to the ground with bendy lowers and a powerful base.
  • Decisive downhill charges create a head of steam for what is to come.
  • Possesses elusive features including spin move and lateral jump cut.
  • Good run-through power to break tackles and extend the carry.
  • Only one fumble over 486 carries during his career.
  • Average hands but makes an impression on the stat sheet as a pass catcher.

Weaknesses​

  • Doesn't have ideal size to take on the heavy collisions he sees each game.
  • Gets into too much of a hurry and rushes ahead of blocking development.
  • Feet fly outside his frame during change of direction, limiting cut fluidity.
  • Below-average press and finesse getting into his run-lane choice.
  • Needs to improve his protection technique to deal with NFL blitzers

Most teams play the Nickel because most NFL offenses play 3 WR sets.

Overshown is really the type of linebacker we need considering he’s just a giant safety that can somehow also get after the QB if needed.

Hes perfect.

I’m open to seeing more Micah at linebacker on early downs this year until Overshown is healthy.

We have so much depth at edge that Micah should see a little more linebacker action even though I think his instincts for the position are terrible.
 
A fan favorite in Chicago. The Bears fans and media loved the guy. Very strong against the run. A thumper. A hitter for sure.

BUT ....

An UDFA because he lacked NFL linebacker speed. Chicago brass let him walk because they wanted more speed at linebacker. Possibly the kind a guy that can get burned often and big in pass coverage.

So, let's wait and see. Way too early to talk cutting the guy and, likewise, way too early to compare him to Sean Lee or LVE or Hitchens.
 
Sean Lee ran his 40 time in 4.71 seconds.

Jack Sanborn ran his 40 time in 4.73 seconds.

Yet, we've got critics regurgitating the same vomit saying Jack Sanborn is no where near as fast as Sean Lee?

Pfft... SMH :facepalm:
