Michael Irvin predicts the team's win-loss record

Irvin gave the Cowboys a few wins I am not so sure about, but a lot can happen. We'll have to see who the healthy teams are and who suffers all the injuries.

Better team, same amount of wins as last year.

The Prescott era Cowboys rarely beat good teams, and there are just too many of them on this years schedule.

Giants and Washington are no longer a guaranteed four wins either.

Maybe the second 7-10 in a row will cause them to consider using a player acquisition method that all other teams use…and they’ll have a fighting shot in 2026.

And that's why we love him

That video of him at the end of the Pittsburgh game last year was a favorite
It is what it is. But it's no longer motivational for me because it's just chest beating. Hollow when nothing is being achieved. I want championships! 30 years is a long time to wait for the next one.

A worse roster with a ton of questions (namely the QBs health, left tackle and the middle of the defense….sort of important parts of a team) while the division is improved is supposed to accomplish what better recent Dallas teams could not?

If they don’t win the division, they have to win TWO road playoff games, which has happened all of once in franchise history, just to GET to the NFCGC, which honestly feels like climbing a massive mountain. Two additional wins to a championship. That ain’t happening. Not at the pace of trying to collect stars through the draft only.

But I suppose I’m a “hater” for seeing things in a realistic manner.

11-5 is very optimistic to say the least.

I think 9-8 would honestly be a “good” outcome depending on whether you root for wins or root for draft position.
You know sometimes reality needs to take some precedence the fact is in 2020 the Cowboys had a mess of a season with injuries we lost Prescott for the season and then what happened three straight years 12 and 5 the Cowboys went to the playoffs three straight years one in division twice

we still are closer to that team than what team in 2024 looked like 2020, that's right and we ended up bouncing back from that,

so, it's not a hard leap to be optimistic and say we could be close to 12 wins if we stay relatively healthy,

How does everyone get to think they're a better guesser that they have a better handle on the team and rather you have a negative response when they say what's the record going to be?

So it's ok we should clap at everyone predicting doom and gloom predicting a negative season meaning like less than nine wins everybody's happy with that but somehow we're not allowed to actually be positive because no one in here knows what the record is going to be nobody's Nostradamus...

Calling people homers just because they're trying to be positive and trying to predict which is guessing everybody's guessing so he's guessing 12 wins I don't think we'd be worse than nine wins but if we're healthy we're definitely getting 10 to 12 wins so I can see that happening she have to have some luck both with the injury front and on your own team and the teams you're facing you don't think teams we face last year didn't have a lot of luck facing our backups facing us twice with a bunch of practice squad players you don't think they helped their cause?

So yeah predicting a little bit above where it's going to be seems a little overly positive and overly optimistic but there's nothing wrong with that we're all guessing when everybody understands that they're not right and other people are wrong we're all guessing doesn't make your prediction more right because you predicted nine wins.lmao.

That's not what he asked that was not asked of him we're talking about the regular season record stop skipping to the playoff stop skipping ahead we need to first get through the regular season and there's nothing wrong with being optimistic as nobody knows what the actual record is going to be it might seem like chess beating you but we just had three straight 12 win season with a core team which is very similar if healthy the only two seasons we didn't have 12 wins were sandwiched with major injuries I mean massive injuries in twenty twenty and twenty twenty four where our down years..

There's nothing wrong with making a prediction that seems positive or overly optimistic because not a single person in here is going to be right with all the people with the 7.5 over and under for the Cowboys is insane we had a team last year with a bunch of practice squad players at 17 games and people in here think that we're going to still only win eight games i'd say that's overly doom and gloom to always be predicting the worst which is worse I don't know but at least we have precedents the three seasons of 12 wins in a row and two division titles were really recent we have that similar core team if healthy I can see us getting 10 to 12 wins...

This team's not responsible for the last 30 years they're only responsible for what happens this year so let's stay on track we're talking about the regular season and we'll worry about the playoffs if and when they happen....

Is this not the definition of a fan? Cheering on YOUR team no matter what.

Waiting for a Championship to cheer is a fair weather fan.
...they suck, I will wait until they win to cheer ... yeah, that is a fair weather band wagon fan.

And haters are going to hate.
Correct you know when did it become popular to be negative and everybody who is optimistic is looked at as a homer and looked at as some anomaly that were not allowed to predict anything positive at all and say anything positive about your own team I mean what did that become so popular when did positivity become negativity??

We ain't winning 12 . Best case, we win 10. New HC, Lots of new blood on staff and player wise. There will be bumps on the road. The early part of our schedule is brutal. Leading up to Thanksgiving day against the chiefs, we will be in the softer part of the schedule and should do ok.

And that's your opinion you're not Nostradamus we're allowed to say whatever our predictions might be 12 wins is not a stretch we just got through winning 12 wins three straight years we just got through seeing what it was like in 2020 with a mirror like performance in 2024 missing a bunch of players lots of injuries and losing your quarterback for the year so it's not a stretch to think we can't bounce back...

Your predictions and all the naysayers predictions aren't anymore accurate than those saying we can win 12 wins they're all guesses you guys are all guessing you are not Nostradamus you do not tell the future you don't tell other fans that they're not allowed to predict 12 wins...

It can happen and stop making teams on paper look better than they are you're trying to tell me that you know what the Chiefs are going to look like when we meet them have you watched their games the last three years they've been declining in in the score differentials they've been fighting to win games they've been losing close games patrick Mahomes has not even been anywhere near himself the last two seasons he's played worse than Dak but nobody wants to talk about it..

Yes they have a very good team solid coaching staff it's going to be a tough game but they are not unbeatable this is not the dominant team from four years ago they've been declining for the last three years but the last two years just looking really normal to me and last year in the Super Bowl the Eagles made them look like trash..

So let's stop acting like we're meeting a bunch of unbeatable teams no team is going to look the same as last year we don't know but they're bringing to the game we don't know if they're going to be injured missing key players you know the advantage they got to meet the Cowboys practice squad all year last year you know those teams that can brag about beating us but beating our backups.

There are too many variables to say we can't win 12 games i'm not saying we're going to win 12 games but stop acting like you know the products that are coming to play us you do not know anything about those teams this year or how they're going to be when they actually meet us teams are going to go through injuries they're going to have struggles they're going to go through droughts they're going to be a team we play that you think we're going to easily lose to that are going to make mistakes and fumble our teams going to make plays yes that's how it works that's why we watch the games it's a reality TV show you do not know the ending you do not know what's happening you're only guessing like the rest of us.....
