This is what I'm talking about ............love it
All mouth, until further notice.

Why you say we would only get a fifth round?Everyone including the Joneses would love for Pickens to reach elite status but calling him a WR1 before he’s played his first down for the team in a contract year is opening up a tough negotiation with him if he does have a big year. If we lose him in free agency we only get a 5th comp pick.
You sound like a woman whining about it.![]()
If he gets anywhere beyond $21 million a year he should be a 3rd round pick. This year the line between a 3rd or 4th was $20 million area. Why you say we would only get a fifth round?
If he signs a contract similar to lamb as you suggested in your post I'm pretty sure we will get a comp picked number third or fourth round.
The "media" is bunk. They don't know. It all depends on how much he makes and should be a 3rd round pick if he's beyond $21 million. It was reported by the media we get a 5th comp pick if he leaves in free agency. The negotiation might be easier calling him what we traded for him to be, a WR2.
For whatever reason, they’re incapable of recognizing anything positive about the Cowboys. A student taking “Advanced Abnormal Behavior” could write their doctorate thesis about the abnormal behavior displayed by the haters at Cowboyszone. This is the best move they made in years. And the media even said it was great for Dallas.
And some don't like it. They are afraid we will win.
I mean, we made some really low key good moves and some blatantly good moves. This is the best move they made in years. And the media even said it was great for Dallas.

Ian Rapoport reported it. This according to Google. The "media" is bunk. They don't know. It all depends on how much he makes and should be a 3rd round pick if he's beyond $21 million.
Well considering they haven't made moves in years sure, I suppose any move in that regard can be considered "the best."This is the best move they made in years
Really? We're going to rely on media credibility LOLAnd the media even said it was great for Dallas.
I don't think it has anything to do with like or dislike or fear. It has more to do with people having seen this particular movie before. And some don't like it. They are afraid we will win.
Ian Rapoport reported it. Googled this. Why you say we would only get a fifth round?

I don’t think you’re wrong at all.If he has a big year, why would we only get a 5th?
And if we said he was our WR3, would that mean it would be an easier negotiation next year?
IMO, his money will depend on his performance and behavior, not what we called him in May. But I acknowledge I could be wrong.
They really have.I mean, we made some really low key good moves and some blatantly good moves.
This crossed my mind, but thought I might be confusing it with baseball, where a player traded mid season can’t be tagged with a qualifying offer (it restricts them for the non MLB followers).Ian Rapoport reported it. This according to Google.
“The Cowboys do not receive a compensatory pick if they lose George Pickens in free agency. They traded for him, so they do not have the right to receive a compensatory pick for him. The compensation they paid for him was a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick, according to ESPN and the Dallas Cowboys website.”

Of course. Some complain just to complain. They really have.
I can understand being critical, but not being willfully ignorant of the good offseason they’ve had.
Better question yet….if he has a big year, and his addition clearly sends the offense to a higher level (which can I see happening), how exactly do you replace that for 2026? Or do we not care because its all about instant gratification and this team is already sufficiently built for a deep playoff run?If he has a big year, why would we only get a 5th?
And if we said he was our WR3, would that mean it would be an easier negotiation next year?

Same here. I hope being both head coach and playcaller on Sundays doesn’t prove to be too much for him.Of course. Some complain just to complain.
My biggest worry is how well Shottenheimer will do.
Right. We can have all the talent in the universe...but if we dont; call the right plays and execute them...it doesn't matter. It will end up as an outstanding trade IF the quarterback/receivers communication becomes and remains solid AND the partnership makes defenses pay on as many offensive possessions as possible.
