I hate the eagles but lol
Did you feel the same way when Pats inflated footballs?fine by me, good teams shouldnt be punished for figuring out ways to win
If you're going to build a straw man argument, at least get it right. They deflated their balls. Importantly, and directly contradicting your straw man, the deflategate scandal was an actual rules violation, which the Tush Push is not.Did you feel the same way when Pats inflated footballs?
as dumb as it sounds at least they were trying to winDid you feel the same way when Pats inflated footballs?
It was 22-10. They needed 24 votes and thus fell 2 short. It was closer than I thought. 17-15. It's getting closer. I would love to hear the rationale on both sides. I am against any assistance to the runner from his teammates other than blocking the opposing team. We are starting to see runner literally hoisted in the air as well as being pulled forward. These plays are already illegal and the refs are not calling it. To help the refs ban all forms of runner assistance and make it an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
That’s what I said too.Honestly, need to find a way to injure players, QB in particular, who do the Tush Push. Either that or just offside it every single time even if it means all the way to the goal line and score. See if the NFL likes the new game of football
Thanks for the correction. I thought it was a simple majority and it seems to me if 22 off 32 teams are against it, it should be banned. It was 22-10. They needed 24 votes and thus fell 2 short.
actually THAT would be banned as well if the rule was changedOL push their running backs on down field runs all the time. No one is trying to ban that. What’s the difference?
Oof.Proposal to ban tush push in NFL fails by two votes, sources say

He wanted it banned because analytics, most likely. The fans don't really like it.I'm quite surprised that the vote failed - ha, ha Roger Goodell. You went about this in a slimy way and, in the end, didn't get what you wanted, a rarity.
If he'd have been more honest in his public reasoning for why he wanted it banned and made a case based on 4th & short situations being a place where the NFL wants suspense and not a surefire win for the offense, I think he might have convinced a few more owners to vote for the ban. But as he went about making his case through proxies and based on false premises over the last few months, I bet some owners didn't like the way that came off and saw it as just targeting one team's innovation and success. That's a bad look for the league.
