FEATURED ESPN: Tempers flare as Eagles defend tush push in heated debate (Jerry comments)

Don't be surprised if we have several nfl teams " Faking " injuries on the ground after a tush push play.. so they can collect data recorded into, going into next year's proposal push to ban Tush Push.

Faking an injury in the NFL will result in fines, suspensions, and forfeiture of draft picks. No team is going risk that kind of ridiculous behavior.

I hate it, but I also hate OL pushing RBs into the end zone. I remember when assisting a runner, be it QB or anyone else, was a penalty. Block, run, and tackle. I do not like seeing the player pushed in.

All 31 other teams are free to develop their own tush push.
I would've loved having Cam Scataboo on this team to run it.

I am fine with the play, but the rule should applet to both offense and defense. If you can push your teammates on offense, why can't you push your teammates on defense?

How can it be a safety issue on Defense and not on offense?
Unfortunately most rules benefit the offense at the expense of the defense.

If they are going to allow offensive players to assist players forward, the defenders should be allowed to hold the player up while others push the pile 10 yards backwards. But that doesn’t happen because of forward progress.

I don’t want player assists either direction. And I’m tired of seeing the league neutering the defense to benefit the offense.

Exactly, why can't they blow up kicks? Propel each other up to block them? If the offense can carry a player forward, why can't they defense carry him backwards until he goes down?

Irvins push off, Barbers stiff arm to the helmet, Roy Williams horse collar etc.

Yeah there are quite a few rules that came about with our players being the supposed catalyst.
When your team is really good…sometimes rules change.

Emmitt Smith taking his helmet off after scoring was banned because people were tired of seeing him score all the time. Michael Irvin’s less than subtle push offs led to tightening those situations.

The bigger point to me is this: None of our players has forced a rules change in a very long time.

The owners make the rules. That’s why. Perhaps if the fans buy more logo key chains and replica jerseys the owner will let fans vote on the rules.

Changing the rule to allow pushing the ball carrier Jerry Jones voted for back in 2005. The owner of the Eagles voted against it. Thanks, Jerry.
