Did Cowboys Reach on Shemar James?

No, you have no clue on a 350 block...I once got $500 on the block alone. No pinto....and you are still dumb as hell on power and use.
If you want to talk auto mechanics I'm more than qualified to do so. If you can justify your stance on football let's hear it.

I don't have a problem with James. That said, I really like Blue as well. My biggest issue with James is the cost they spent to go get him.

I kinda feel like drafting a guy like Devin Neal would have been a better choice.

Can someone sell me on James over a guy like Neal?
Depends. How badly did we need STers?

He is one of those players that the Cowboys, and other teams, seem to trade up for that makes you wonder why. I thought there were better players on the board if you were to move up. Heck I thought Basa might be a better LB. However with a lower round pick where we had a ton of lower round picks to be able to trade with...no big problem.

Now thankfully it was not like the Lions giving up a future third round pick and their own third to move up in the third for.....WR Isaac Teslaa. Maybe that turns our for them but man alive...I just did not get that one at all.

I believe Bassa is the better player now. But Bassa is a bit older, had injury concerns and is pretty much limited on upside from what the scouts I read on him.

James is 20, super young, green dot player and a captain. You draft him and hope you can mold him to be the guy you want.

I wanted Bassa. But I think he’s limited to strictly a will linebacker. I think James has untapped potential

Trading up for a 5th rounder is definitely odd, but at that point in the draft, I don't think there's really "reaches" any more. Most of the clear-cut NFL talent gets drafted in the first 100 picks or so, and after that, you're just looking for guys that you think can make it.

If I was a GM, I'd play Day 3 picks like they're lotto tickets, where you just want to take as many shots as possible. The draft is a crapshoot in general, and when you're dealing with guys who all have giant holes in their scouting report, it's doubly so.

But word is that James had like a young-CEO type interview with the team. LB is a very mental position, so if you think a guy's got the football IQ and got the dawg to go play it, that's good enough to take a conviction bet on him. I'd rather draft a Zach Thomas type guy at linebacker - all brains, no tools - than a Jaylon Smith type guy who's all tools and no brains.

And as fans watching Youtube videos and looking up Combine results. we don't really get to see the brains. We don't get to interview him with a whiteboard, or talk to his college coaches. The Cowboys have info on a very big part of the LB evaluation process that we don't.

That's the long way of saying, I get the pick.

I'd say. Football society is not ready for players with trans names.

Shemar James was the #1 ranked LB out of highschool, so there must be some talent there. Just didnt fully click in College. So i guess Cowboys took a chance on Talent + Youth.

Probably wont be active much this season or play ST. He is a development guy so probably cant grade the pick before 2026/2027.
