I'm hoping we have some trading card expert here. And if this needs moved please do so, I didn't know which forum is appropriate and I did want to reach the most people possible.

I have found the card value but not the manufacturer mount version. This is a mounted Upper Deck card that is (mostly) sealed except a slight tear. I wondered if it was worth anything. What do you think? All sarcasm is welcome!

For the record...mods/admin...I am NOT looking to "market" this card. Just looking for information...there's is NONE on the internet that I can find. But thank you for moving it anyway.

Is the rear in the card, or whatever is sealing it?

It's probably not worth much. Maybe a little if it's autographed. I have a few plaques like that of Emmitt, Troy, Michael, and a group one of much of the team. I don't think I payed more than $75 for any of them, 30 years ago.

It’s honestly not worth much. I used trade/collect cards when I was younger. I can tell the card is off center and slightly rotated. You also mentioned a tear, which I don’t see due to the picture quality, but would torpedo the card’s value unless we’re talking Honus Wagner or something.

I have some cards I was wondering about too. I found that there is now a rating system, and a company that rates cards for money. That rating is apparently required to establish any real value in a trading card. Seems like a scam to me.

But I think most cards from the 1990s are worth very little today because so many of them were produced. I have a couple of dozen Barry Sanders rookie cards. And 50,000 other cards and I have no idea what to do with them.

That's the problem with most sports cards over the last 30-40 years.

Once it shifted from fun collecting to would-be investment collecting, the sports card producing companies started producing way too many cards which let people mass-buy them by the boxes and that flooded the market and diluted the value of all cards, even the rarest of them.

That's 100% what it is.

My dad served in Desert Shield and many companies would send the troops crates full of free product including baseball and football cards. My dad sent me back boxes and boxes of Pro Set football cards and I had more Emmitt Smith rookie cards than I knew what to do with. Today, they're absolutely worthless.

This is the new thing. Get it PSA graded and if it comes up Mint Condition, you may get something for it. Unfortunately I think it cost a bit of money to get it PSA graded.

Pokemon is where it's at lol. Nah but seriously I have a gem mint Emmitt Florida Gator card and I actually wonder what it's worth. I'd never sell it though.
