Upcoming contracts for players such as: Bland, Pickens, Tyler Smith, Ferguson, Parsons. You can't pay them all, so who goes, who stays!? Please give your thoughts

Tyler Smith is next year. The Cowboys do not extend 1st round picks after 3 years.

As far as the rest go, whoever isn't extended this year is probably gone next year. I'm guessing Parsons gets signed this year. Tyler Smith next year.

Ferguson and most likely Pickens.

Maybe Pickens gets franchised, but no way should ge be extended

I can easily see Pickens not working out. Our front office could let him walk to get a third-round compensatory draft pick. It depends on how big of a headache he causes.

Of course you can pay them all, if you want to and their play warrants it. Ferguson would be a cheap resign after last year. Frankly, he will never be much better than he is, imo. As soon as our defense is in decent shape, we should be looking to get better at TE. Bland is not a top CB in the league, just a good one. He, like Diggs, is not even close to a shut down corner. They are both off the ball defenders who read the QB and get turnovers. Many teams don’t value off the ball defenders; they want press man CBs. Tyler Smith and Parsons are the only players on that list who are among the best at their positions, and we are lucky that Smith is a LG instead of a LT.

I’m sure jerry will pay them all after over extending the negations and letting the league drive the contract value up while he plays at GM.

A lot depends on how some of these guys play this year I think. If Bland has a good year they could keep him and cut Diggs. Cutting Diggs in 2026 saves $8.6 million CAP dollars. If Bland has an off year and Diggs comes back to have a good year, they could let Bland walk.

I think Tyler Smith and Parsons get new contracts for sure.

Ferguson will be allowed to leave via free agency the same way Schultz left. Ferguson would have to have a spectacular season for Dallas to re-sign him.

Parsons and Bland before the season starts. Depending on how Ferguson and Pickens do this season, one might get signed before free agency. Smith won't be signed until after the 2026 season as if needed as they have already put the 5th year tag on him so he is under contract through 2026.

Ferguson would have to have a Kittle/Bowers/Kelce type year to get really big money and based on how the offense is currently set up, don't see it. Could see him getting a deal in the 4 or 5 years range of of $60/$75 mil with $35 mil guaranteed with $27 mil as signing bonus so Dallas would have an out after 3 years.

Pickens is going to be a tougher case depending on how the season goes. Depending on how well he plays with Lamb, then he could be looking at north of $100 mil for 4 years probably $130 mil with $70 mil guaranteed. That would be a huge gamble. Also have to see how Mingo, Tolbert, Flournoy, Brooks, Holden and Kelly do in training camp and those that are around after the season starts. If, say, Mingo and Holden turn out to be much better than expected then they could let Pickens walk and recoup a 3rd round pick for him for 2027.

Could see Bland getting a 3 year deal for around $54 mil.

Smith contract probably 5 years and $110 mil when he signs.

Projected salary cap for 2026 is $295 mil and probably will be over $300 mil, so lots of ways to get around those salaries with bonus years and such.
