Can 9 year veteran Dak Prescott lead today's Dallas Cowboys to a Super Bowl?

Absolutely.

Also, he has no consequences or reprimand because he is the boss. As you said, as long as the money keeps rolling in all is well. He has certainly proven to be able to keep the Cowboy's brand at the top of the list in the NFL or damn near close to it despite the massive lack of success in the postseason for so long.
Spot on! He’s not accountable to anyone. What a broken failed franchise.

You’re changing the subject.

The subject is defense wins championships which is an old outdated cliche in a league that has nerfed the defense nearly entirely out of the game of football.

You’re looking at stats but didn’t watch the actual games.

It’s an offensive league. Offense is the new defense.

QB play, coaching > defense.
It takes equal parts offense and defense to win. Minimizing either of the two is ridiculous.

The only way Dak leads the Cowboys to a super bowl is if the defense and our running game is the tops in the NFL.
If any pressure is on Dak were done.

Eagles D didn't look nerfed giving up 10, 22, 23, and 22 points in the playoffs. And in reality, the 22 against KC was only 6 until Sirianni threw the backups in to finish the game.
Yeah it was 40-6 when he got the Gatorade dumped on him…

Really? Their defense gave the ball back to them far more than ours would. That helps a lot.
Yep…Just like the Cowboys enjoyed under DQ if I recall. Didn’t the Cowboys lead the NFL in takeaways a couple times under him? I’m not sure why some are trying to say defense no longer matters. Makes no sense. Just ask the world champions which side of the ball they picked in the first five selections in this year’s draft

But who’s gonna steal your money at the stadium, at least he keeps us contending and butts in seats. Not that I agree but that is the reason for the contract.
The reason for the contract was a senile old man

You'd have a better shot with Cooper Rush.
Cooper rush may not win the big game, but he probably won't lose it for you.
Unlike the other guy
I would be much more excited about this team if Cooper was still on the team

So...it didn't matter the offense didn't KILL their own defense?

If you have a GOOD defense...the offense matters. The offense doesn't have to win the gamne...it just has to not hurt your defense.

Now tell me again how offense doesn't matter.
I didn't say offense didn't matter. I'm telling you that excellent defense especially at rushing the passer and at cb has won the last few super bowls.

Prescott is every bit as good as Mahomes when he first came into the league. He just didn’t have the tools behind him. The team Mahomes was so overrated blessed because of what he had in Kansas City
***?

Yeah ok.

No QB will lead the Cowboys to a championship unless they build a great team/defense. The 5 championships the Cowboys won were with great teams and defenses.
Here you go again.

You never stop with this.

49er’s 19
Cowboys 12

Dak with two picks.

And the year before the defense gives up 23 and Daks’s offense scored 17.

Prescott again was the worst player on the field.

This team isn’t winning jack squat with him.

Here you go again bringing up that 23-17 loss to the 49ers where our defense gave up 170 yards rushing and never sacked Jimmy G once. Even the Joneses admitted we got destroyed up front. Not to mention we had no running game. This team isn’t winning squat until we have a better prepared team with a defense that can dominant…Fact! Stop pointing the finger entirely at the QB and open your eyes.

I said no QB will lead the Cowboys to a championship until they build a great team and defense. How many championships have the Cowboys won where they didn’t have a great team and defense? The years the Cowboys weren’t very good both Staubach or Aikman came up short in the playoffs. They won with GREAT teams. Mahomes would struggle with the teams we’ve had. He looked like garbage against Philly in the SB because his team was being manhandled. The same thing happened to him against Tampa a few years ago in the SB. You fans that honestly believe a better QB can win it all with an inconsistent running game, along with poor blocking upfront and a defense that gets its doors blown off against contending teams are blind.

What in his 9th year would be any different than his previous 8??

Give him the 2000 Ravens D and a good running game and he could well get them to a Super Bowl. But, so could 31 other QBs.
These are my thoughts as well. Though I am of the opinion, you could find several backup QB’s that could do the same too. Throw the ball 10-15 times to basically wide open receivers 10-15 yards down field or less. Run the hell out of the ball with the RB and some by receivers and QB and collect the hardware.

The funny part is that several posters here would be strutting for Dak after a championship like that. It’s like kneeling at the feet of Trent Dilfer.

I could take or leave Prescott. My only issue is people really think he’s the only problem and it’s all his fault. And they really believe that. This is a team sport. In my opinion praise and blame. You should start at the head coach. Not even Jerry, the GM. If you have the head coach, it all falls on you. He’s the reflection of the team and Mike McCarthy was soft.

They just don’t like the guy, it’s all his fault, you have to realize a hero Tony Romo lost his job because of their despised Prescott. This isn’t even about talent anymore. This is about pure just prejudice. He took over for their hero.

Yep, play-off caliber teams will find and exploit your weaknesses (as identified in the three 12-5 years). The weakness, the 9ers and Packers exploited was the inability of Dak to play from behind (especially with the clock ticking).....
.....score, stop the run (which the Packers didnt need to do, as Dak went to full pass-mode....possibly fearing the clock/score), and watch Dak come up short as they sit in coverage, daring Dak to take chances.
As for 2025, WE ARENT EXPECTING SB, we are hoping that this Offense clicks. IF for some reason it and Dak cant work it out (regardless of result), then we are in an overhaul......IF it works (with Pickens re-signed, Overshown/Diggs/Bland/Revel post injury AND a draft based around Defense) we are potentially in an ALL-IN 2026.

Interesting, i'm on the opposite side of the Dak fence, I think Dak's fanbase see everyone else as the problem (and then absolve Dak's shortcomings with 'he isnt elite').....when he's getting 20% of the CAP and needs just about everything in way of roster (unless his fans can come up with one aspect he can do without), can we justify leadership (which tends to go missing at the most crucial times) to get us to winning a SB?
The onus (i hope) is on him to take that leadership and utilize this improved Offense.....he has the pieces available to him for a fair shot - not in scoreboard results, but the promise that this Offense is a eriough unit (and i'll accept last years roster was just not good enough).
