Can 9 year veteran Dak Prescott lead today's Dallas Cowboys to a Super Bowl?

What in his 9th year would be any different than his previous 8??

Give him the 2000 Ravens D and a good running game and he could well get them to a Super Bowl. But, so could 31 other QBs.
That's a good point. We hear that a LOT...don't we? "Dak needs a defense, an O-line, a run game, and #2 WR"....

well yeah...duh. Probably 30 other QBs need that too. 1-2 MIGHT be able to overcome the lack.

It doesn't make Dak special. It makes him average. That's fine...nothing wrong with that.

The NFL has completely nerfed defense into the ground and you guys are still spouting Defense wins championships lol.

Defense is the new special teams.
To an extent...you could be right. But the D STILL needs some stops.

Dak Defenders want to down play the importance the offense is to a good defense. "Dak doesn't play defense", they say. If you can't score in the first half...your defense is ragged.

Score some points, keep the ball....keep your defense on the bench...find out how good they can actually be not getting rammed into the ground.

@Whirlwin

I'll say that I hope that there comes a day where you bring my posts in this thread back up and throw it in my face after we win the Super Bowl. I do pull for Dak and support him as long as he is the Quarterback for my favorite team.

Have a good Memorial Day and no hard feelings man.

It's like you've missed the last 4-5 super bowls. Last super bowl I remember where an O actually won was maybe 17 w/ the Eagles/Pats. I think there was one more shootout there, but in most of them the D's completely controlled the games. Especially the last one.

There's a lot of truth to that but a team still usually needs a Qb with that clutch gene in him.

Surprisingly Jalen Hurts SB play and stats have been superior in both of his Super Bowls......no deer in the headlights look with that dude

Just going back to this last Super Bowl the Eagles scored 34 points by the end of the 3rd quarter on the same Defense you claim won a championship in 23. lol.

Defenses are just holding on the best they can.

Defense doesn’t win championship anymore. The league isn’t structured that way.

The defense is there to limit explosive plays, hopefully keep teams to field goals instead of touchdowns, and hopefully cause a turnover at some point.

The eagles last year, and KC in 23 won the Superbowl because of their defense imo
So...it didn't matter the offense didn't KILL their own defense?

If you have a GOOD defense...the offense matters. The offense doesn't have to win the gamne...it just has to not hurt your defense.

Now tell me again how offense doesn't matter.

No dog...it's not the hammer.

Those offenses HELPED the defense and there's nothing you can say or think that makes it different.

Did those offenses score ANY points? At all? But it was ONLY the defense?

How many offensive turnovers? How many critical 1st downs that keep the defense on the bench. Even just a couple matter, even if you don't score.

"it was the defense" is VERY lazy and ignorant. It's both.

People grew up watching old NFL football so they still regurgitate old NFL cliches.

Meanwhile the league has structured the entire league around Offense & making defenses weak.

Offense is defense. Time of possession is defense. Scoring points and making the other offense 1 dimensional is defense.

They aren’t playing traditional defense anymore & defense doesn’t win championships.

All defenses are trying to do is not give up explosive plays, allow FG’s & not TD’s, and hopefully create a turnover.

The NFL is coaching & QB driven. Not defensive driven at all.

Eagles D didn't look nerfed giving up 10, 22, 23, and 22 points in the playoffs. And in reality, the 22 against KC was only 6 until Sirianni threw the backups in to finish the game.

The Eagles Offense dominated in time of possession all year. Especially the playoffs.

Hope this helps.

As i mentioned, I certainly agree that Jerry is to blame ultimately for the last 30 years and it’s beyond embarrassing at this point. He is in charge of literally everything.

It’s hard to argue that winning is more important than money or him being at the center of everything. And winning doesn’t have to be the only mechanism to keeping his team relevant. Jerry has proven that over the last 30 years. He is definitely the root cause as you say.

I don’t blame Dak for all of our problems. I just don’t think he is capable to lead a team close to a Super Bowl because he hasn’t. Jerry signed him up for another four years. In four years we will still be having this conversation about Jerry Jones.
I get your point.

IMO...the most important stat ever. If the our offense keeps the ball more than their offense....for Dak Defenders...that is called "ball control" or "clock management"....you are HELPING and PLAYING defense. You don't always have to score although that of course helps/.

If the Eagles had our defense from last year they wouldn't have dominated the TOP. Hope this helps.
You’re changing the subject.

The subject is defense wins championships which is an old outdated cliche in a league that has nerfed the defense nearly entirely out of the game of football.

You’re looking at stats but didn’t watch the actual games.

It’s an offensive league. Offense is the new defense.

QB play, coaching > defense.
