Over the next few weeks, the DC writers will discuss depth chart for the position groups.

Yes, players have been discussed many times already. But this will be from the writers with possiblysome different takes, and catches thoughts. As the team added over 30 players to the roster this off-season.

BS said the best 5 will start, as all coaches say that anyway.
First up, the OT's

Schotty has zero authority to bench or move Guyton. Right or wrong, Jerry will make that decision. There's no way Jerry will give up on him at LT after only 1 year.

Now, Brian Schottenheimer has said numerous times this offseason that the five best offensive linemen will start

We've discussed the tackles to death they just need to step up or step aside but they're going to get every chance that we're going to be rolling the same exact tackles out that we did last year and hopefully the new scheme and coaches get it pulled together I mean there's only one change on this offensive line and that would be Booker that is if he can show he's better than Hoffman I mean Hoffman still had the chance to fight for that right guard spot whether people here think that or not he will have to show it in camp scrimmages and preseason games he will need to step up he's not going to be handed a job here just because he was the first round pick he will definitely get the first opportunity but Hoffman's a fighter he's a dog he showed he can play that role I mean we look better with him in there last year than we did with Martin in there so don't write him off but if we're just talking about the tackles this pretty much going to be the same.

Who exactly is on this roster that can take their job we drafted a 7th rounder I believe at tackle we have Richards who is hardly ever there long enough to keep the position as he gets hurt a lot I mean who's still on this team wally?

Last I checked they seemed to over play their hand at guard this year I mean this offseason how many guards do we have like 12? With maybe Hoffman and I can't remember that other guys name that could play center but really a whole bunch of guards.

Bass, Hoffman Most likely primary backups at guard and center but then when you have Jones that guy I can't spell his name that played for Washington they're trying to resurrect his career nate Thomas was drafted last year you'd even know he's a tackle you all keep telling me his best spots at guard..

That's just some of them but these are all basically guards couple can sub as centers but how they have Hoffman as the primary back up at center he should be also the left guard not TJ Bass but still look at all these guards look at all these centers and I don't think that's all of them that's just the current depth chart...

Now tackles, I heard Thomas isnt a tackle but still listed as one and that rook? s that Adeniji? good luck with that group at LT LOL

Now right ouch Id say Discussing all these tackles which some might be guards that's why I think we got like 12 guard centers and maybe four tackles yes something needs to be done.. No people didn't like Edoga but a lot of these guys even better than Edoga..

We are absolutely set inside but there are more? Then on the Joker's uniform at tackle you better hope our starters turn into juggernauts pro Bowlers overnight and that they don't get hurt,.., Maybe the rookie is better than he looks on paper maybe some of those guys they brought in that I don't know their names maybe they're going to be better but yeah tackle is going to be discussed to death that it is the weak point on this offense the whole entire offense..

Just like corner would be the biggest weak spot on defense mostly there because the injury is not names but availability big question marks...

Maybe eduga can come back and we can start him since he's so great!! lol

Easily will be your best post today!!!!!

It really all boils down to IF Guyton can be coached up to be a serviceable LT.

If not, then lots of alternative options will open up for the not so great tackles depth chart.

Hopefully Riley proves his college skins on the wall as a pro OL coach by sorting out the best and most effective 5 regardless of positional sacrifice if needed.

It’s cute you think what BS says will happen. Pencil guyton in. Jerry drafted him and they paid Steele. Those 2 are starting.

How cute you take what I post out of context. Or do you just want to continue to make things up and go against what I post.

I simply said what BS stated. I DID NOT say I believe him and that will happen.
I know those two are starting regardless. I did not need to post it to say I disagreed with his comment.

Clearly this article is wrong.

It doesn’t even list Tyler Smith among the group when we all know that despite being all-pro guard, he should be a tackle.

If Booker plays well, then we need to immediately start listing him as the best starting right tackle if Scotty wasn’t such an idiot.

/s for those who require it

Tyler Smith was a below average left tackle during his rookie season and I remember the Rams would putting Aaron Donald over him just to attack him. Don’t get me wrong Smith is our best offensive lineman but the last thing you want to do is put him at left tackle. It would be a disaster for the offensive line as a whole. Guyton would have to be really bad for the Cowboys to mess up the middle of the line with Smith, Bebe, and Booker.

Tackle is weak until you include Tyler Smith in the conversation.

Funny, I remember the consensus being he was a top 10 LT. As a rookie, who is going to best Aaron Donald? Tyler was great his rookie year. He just always projected better at guard in terms of SPARQ and play style. But he's still an above average tackle.

Someone did a hindsight re-draft, which had Tyler Smith at #9.

That said, if we had a better LT it would make sense to have him at LG. But he's way better than Guyton and Guyton would be better in the right side.

They should at least take a look at the possibility in case of injury. To say he was below average at LT is revisionist history.

I hope they give Hoffman a legitimate shot
He is a fighter as you stated plays with a lot of heart
If Shotty is true to his word and they play the 5 best
Then Smith could kick pack out to Lt Tackle
Then Booker at lt guard and Hoffman at rt guard
I know it might be a pipe dream

Thoughts ?

Why do people say things like this? You have no knowledge of the inner workings of the team. If Guyton's play makes him deserving of being benched he'll be benched.

your cred died the minute you claim Tyler was great his rookie year
