Its going to be tough to break the news to Chris when Dallas drops Deuce. But it needs to be done.

He knows it coming, especially with a new staff.

Let’s keep it 100 on Vaughn. Some people don’t like him because they feel him being drafted was nepotism. But the fact is he was a great college player. He was worthy of a late round pick. And I’d take a shot at him any day of that week even with his size. He maybe can’t play in this league and he certainly is a tough sell as a running back who can’t play special teams. But this amusement you guys have of him wanting him gone doesn’t seem warranted. I’m rooting for him. Good kid.

My point is, some fans seem to have made it personal with Deue, which is mind boggling for a bubble player who has a great attitude, is a team player, and has shown potential in limited opportunities. This is a level of disdain normally reserved for players like Dak, Diggs, Parsons etc

I actually think he can play. He may surprise us, though, if we're being honest about it.

Just to be objective, because I was being more humourous than serious here. We still have to go through TC. He still has his chance.

1)The coach he had success with is now here in Dallas.

2) His new head coach doesn't think, deep down, that running the ball is a curse.

3) I think his teammates like him. Fans, despite some of us ribbing at him like we do other players, actually like him.

4) It really isn't his fault he hasn't gotten the opportunities. He's had so few, he's just getting warmed up, so it's too small a sample size to really judge his ability.

5) Our line improved in 2025. No doubt in my mind we improved. Deuce is better when he gets past that first level. In this regard, he's similar to Mafah..just better in the open field.

6) Like Blue, he has value in the passing game.

7) His name makes for brilliant marketing. Anytime he gets the rock, the stadium erupts with Deeeeuuuce!

8) Hopefully he's been developing his game even more and putting on muscle and weight after 2 years in the NFL.

9) If we're being honest, the competition outside of Blue is pretty average.

10) He just wants to play so bad it makes you kind of want to allow him, because any coach making a 5'5'' RB look good must be a great coach.

11) Fewer teams will crowd the LOS because we now have better receivers.

It's going to depend on how the cookie crumbles.

Personally, I think another team would pick him up. Maybe even Philthy, to get a look at him on their PS at the very least.

So, I think he was worthy as an UDFA, which Dallas could have likely done.

That's not a knock on Deuce. It's just, there's probably not a need to keep him on the 53, especially if there's obviously no plan to actually play him.

He was always likely a guy you keep on the PS to develop.

That's not on Deuce, unless there's some sort of pressure to activate him, that's on the coaches for bad personnel, roster and game planning.

This, 100%. I don't understand the hate either. I hope that he gets 1800 yards this year.

I knew you would come calling. lol He was given 40 carries over 2 seasons and averaged only 2.8. He had 10 catches for only 58 yards. As a returner he had for 4 returns for only 19 yards. He was given a chance.

Such hate for a bubble player. I don't see anyone so eagerly counting down the days for guys like Waletzko or Jalen Brooks.

It's really irrational. So he was a good story on draft day. Does that mean you should despise him?

It's not like we drafted some nobody just because his dad works here. Deuce was a wildly productive back in college and, while he has yet to get any significant time during the season, has performed when given opportunities in preseason. Like many bubble players.

The hate on this board toward him is completely disproportionate to the impact, or lack of impact, he has on the team.

Why does it have to be hate all the time with some of you girls and boys? Damn! Just because he is not NFL material that is supposed to be hate! And, this is not college!

He averaged 4.1 last season in 17 carries. His average was jacked up because of a 12 yard run which was his career long. That was in the season finale against Washington when they started pulling players. He only had 13 yards in 4 carries against Houston and only 11 yards in 4 carries against NO.

This team hasn't done jack squat in a long time! The Deuce pick gets folks riled up because it's symbolic of the poor roster decisions, made by an amateur GM, that have yielded decades of poor results. Having Deuce on the active roster is mind-numbing.

The fact of the matter is if he was good enough he would play more. None of us are at practice or know much of anything about coaching professional football players.

No, we can't say that because this is the same team that started Zeke over Rico last season and Zeke over Pollard the last few seasons.....same team that would not start Bland until an injury happened.....same team that had Dak behind Kellen Moore and Jameil Showers as a rookie.....

I'm pretty confident that Vaughn's size limitations are gonna hinder him from ever being more than a part-time player or any player for that matter.

But when money and draft stock are involved.....we can't not say just because a guy isn't playing more means he can't play.

The more plays he made the more opportunities he got and it earned him the starting job. You can’t keep feeding a back who’s not making plays.

Exactly a few nice plays in the 4th quarter against bubble players in preseason got some fans all giddy over him. He did virtually nothing in the opportunities he got during the regular season.

I did not count the times he suited up for games and never stepped on the field. That is a waste of a player position when they could have suited up someone that could play special teams or for some other need.

Zeke didn’t earn anything last year. Deuce should have gotten more of those carries imo.

Zeke was a proven player who we had success with in the past and although he did nothing he always managed to fall forward and pick up a yard or two. He wasn’t making negative or no gain plays which has been an issue with Deuce. This is why his career average is only 2.8.
