I’m old school loved the ABA it was a fun great league and I would love if one of those original teams absorbed into the NBA wins a title . Pacers have a tough job ahead , go Pacers ! George McGinnis and that crew .

And how the heck other than Sue Bird and her greatness the WNBA survives in Seattle but the Sonic’s move to OKC and the NHL makes a go of it in Seattle ? Seattle seems like a solid West Coast sports town .

The Storm survived in Seattle because Key Arena was still a fairly new arena and they have a pretty good fan base because it includes all of Washington, Portland, and Vancouver.

Sonics move had nothing to do with the city. It was the previous owner not getting the renovations and then he sold it.

I remember those battles but they were somewhat forgettable since the Sonics didn’t beat the Lakers in any playoffs matchups since Showtime began. Off of memory, none of the series went past 5 or had an elimination game.

Jack Sikma and co ….when you have a tradition like Seattle had with the NBA it seems foolish to just blow off fans and move . Like the Colts and Cardinals Browns football

Every team the Lakers played from the semis in 88 went to 7.

Denver won a game 1 stunner against OKC as well.
Anything can happen, but the Pacers are clearly an inferior team overall.
It will be a fun series either way.

On paper they are but if Pacers win we have to revisit that. Pacers have a lot of underrated talent that doesn’t get exposure. People don’t remember Siakam is a NBA champion and has experience.
