Dak wasn’t so ‘prepared to bet on himself’ that he or his agent were willing to risk injury into the season. As much as I hate that contract, and hate some of the fraternity type of comments, I can't blame Dak for this. I have no doubt he was prepared to bet on himself once again and called Jerry's bluff. After waiting until the last second on yet another extension, and playing with the Trey Lance experiment can I blame Dak for getting every dime he could? From a pure fan standpoint I dont like it, but just as a human being I understand it. I'd play hardball with a front office that hasnt shown confidence in me too.
IronicHumble yourself…..
Whoever wrote this Dak slobbering fluff piece lost all credibility with one comment:What else were the Cowboys supposed to do? Come on.
It's very easy to poke fun at the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott for having failed to progress in the postseason, but the constant hand-wringing and complaining about his contract doesn't have as much weight behind it as many believe.
The Cowboys are all-in on Prescott, as they agreed to a four-year, $240 million contract with him following his past success. That is the type of contract that is instantly going to make any Cowboys hater green with envy when Prescott doesn't end world hunger or solve one of the Millennium Prize Problems every single week.

You been holding a grudge since I told you that you drunk Jerry kool aid…..Ironic
Micah Parsons says.....Makes all the sense in the world ....... worst contract Jerry has ever done.
Trying really hard to be positive lol. I would rather have a young QB, but here we are.He could , but only acquiring a FA like Amari Cooper or Pickens every 7 years is a serious hamstring.
The Steelers do the same crap and their playoffs usually end early like ours.
Although I participate in our Qb debates here every now and then, I realized that the man building the roster is hopelessTrying really hard to be positive lol. I would rather have a young QB, but here we are.
Another stupid thing you said. You been holding a grudge since I told you that you drunk Jerry kool aid…..
Yeah we're totally going to hamstring the next QB's low salary honeymoon window. What makes the Dak deal worse than say a Tua isnt just the current terms of the deal, but the fact that this is contract #3 for the Dak, and the Cowboys have horribly mismanaged both his rookie contract by playing the franchise tag game, and kicked a pretty significant amount of his 1st extension into the current one.
Daks current $240M contract has $280M worth of cap hits still on it.
The Cowboys are going to have to eventually either eat a major cap hit one season and have a throw away year, or kick a ton of money into the void years which minimizes the benefits of the next QB coming in on a rookie deal which is where so many teams have been able to make runs. Compare that to Tua who has obvious health risks right now, but if Miami can just make it through the 2026 season with him he can be easily cut that offseason.
Wouldn't be so many if he didn't sign a historic contract. It comes with the territory...especially when you can't stay upright and had a season-ending injury throwing the football. I bet he's lost what little zip he had on the football.Great, another Dak contract thread.![]()
^ Pretty much thisThe worst thing about the Dak deal is that they bid against themselves. Nobody was going to pay Dak $60mm.
Yep......Jerry was lazy and panickedits simply a Dak and his agent took full advantage of Jerry thing.
100%.....see thread #56The worst thing about the Dak deal is that they bid against themselves. Nobody was going to pay Dak $60mm.
Everyone hates the Cowboys. Even many of their so called “fans”. Just nothing but a bunch of whining. What else were the Cowboys supposed to do? Come on.

Just about every starting QB before Dak signed his first extension has been resetting the market. Lamar Jackson will move ahead of him before long. That’s just how it is in the NFL these days. As for him not being able to stay upright maybe if his OL would block he would. There’s no concerns about the zip on his football. It’s how much zip does he have left in his legs after his recent injury that’s a concern.Wouldn't be so many if he didn't sign a historic contract.
