Positions I am comfortable with/worry about prior to camp!

QB-Good, like the #2 add to develop
RB-very worried. Not sure we have a every down back. Heard zero from Blue thus far.
TE-pleasantly surprised with Spann-Ford emergence.
WR-Good, would love to see either Tolbert or Mingo take that next step.
OL-Good. Hearing good things about our tackles, but let's see how they perform when the pads go on.
DE-Good, probably our deepest position. Hearing good things about EZ, Sam.
DT-extremely worried. 3T should be fine, but just unproven talent at the 1T.
LB-very worried. Like Sanborn, but he has athletic limitations. Murray is by far the biggest concern cause his lack of instincts, I am expecting another Jaylon Smith. Marist I like the most, but still green.
CB-very worried. Booth/Muku have been playing outside corners with the 1's and getting roasted. Cannot expect a rookie coming off of an acl to start day 1.
S-Good. Watch for the Syracuse undrafted kid to make the team. Hoping for a bigger role for Thomas.
Coaching-Good. Confident schemes on both sided with be improved

Training Camp will determine if the front office has to go out and bring in a few veteran reinforcements.
* OFFENSE:

QB2
- it's a wait and see, ..Milton is more of a project than reliable emergency backup - he's clearly more in a development stage. If Dak were to go down per injury for a couple of gmes or threee, how confident are you with milton to keep the ship afloat ?
i am glad we directed to a guy woth far more imposing physical tools, but we failed at doing that with trey Lance.

RB.. it's an unknown. Blue is promising potential but he's still an unknown.. Williams has question marks per post ACL form .. and Miles Sanders showed a shell of his ex-Philly slef in Carolina with Chubb emerging behind same makeshift OL ... Mafah ? .. a long shot 7th round pick ? Agree, it's too much of a cross fingers wait & see..

TE - Span has not played extensively in pass game in a reg season.. min-camps are shorts and jerseys , not hitting , jamming, tackling and pads ..

WR - the pickens trade has fan base excited and high optimistic- a far cry from last year's offseason do nothing .. what about the 3rd WR role ? Tolbert ? Mingo ?
Ryan Flournoy ? .. Turpin will play a role similar towhat Chiefs d owihth Xavier worthy .. jet sweeps, quick bubble screens, quick outs and curls near goal line .. misdirection handoffs & pitches .. the bid is to get him quickly in open field space as often as possible.

OL .. again it's only mini camp.. the reg season will be the tale all .. But How confident are you with the Backup OTs ? .. Asim Richards , Adeniji, Hakeem, & Cornelius, Ajani.. this looks real iffy right now .. OG backs TJ Bass, Rob Jones & Hoffman man the reserve interior.

* DEFENSE
on paper it look deep and promising at reserve DEs, but we need to find out if the starters can hold water per Williams, Turner & Breeland ...
interior is a concern with me .. Mazi maybe an average journeyman JAG, Solomon is more rotational, and we have rookies who could be practice squaddees at camps end.
Osa is the only sur thing at 3 tech..De ja vue as 2024, reinforcement emergency expected at camps end ..street vets or late round trade al Jon Hankins like.
-big question will be how eberflus will scheme Parsons in his 4 man front

LBs - i have low expectations for Overshown's return in 2025 .. Marist is my biggest hope, Sanborn may surprise, but i'm leary with Murray.. And draftee Shemar James could be Damon Clark 2.0 all athlete no instincts ..

CBs - a concern with me as questions with Diggs' knee,.. rookie Revel and Butler are still ACL mends,.. and why on earth is Booth stil lhere ? .. Elam may surpise on outside boundary, but reg season will tell. it's a reason Bills moved on fromx-1st rd guy.. IsDC eberflus mking mistake with Bland as slot vs outside boundary where he set NFL record for pick sixes..

Safety- i'm bidding for Thomas to overtake Hooker or Wilson .. he has knack for ball, and offers slot action too. Seems to have more range than either Hook/Wilson
Hook doesn't make enuff big plays , imo. and is Wilson limited the more field he has to cover ? Bell needs to prove his dep skills

* SPECIAL TEAMS - this is where i think we will miss Bones vs new SP coach Nick Sorenson ... Bones was instrumental in developing FG kicker Aubrey and Turpin as a returner .. both became Pro Bowlers under Bones ... and his unit was best ever in Cowboys history as i can remember in blocking punts..
maybe Jones thought he was too bravo and maverick chancing for their liking ..?

Couple of comments:

-Milton offers more upside then Rush, but he most likely will struggle if needed to start. Just not ready, Grier might be better at this juncture.
-someone has to emerge at running back or they will be forced to make a trade for one.
-Spann-Ford's biggest asset is his inline blocking ability, I believe we are going to see a ton of 12 personnel.
-I'm actually very high on Richards, I think if they allow him to compete he could win the job, but don't think they will give him that chance.
-We know what Parsons/Fowler can do, after that it is all about upside with young players. Think Kneeland is the best at the run.
-DT remains a huge concern, Mazi and a bunch of green prospects, where Osa/Thomas are more 1 dimensional pass rushers.
-Murray has Jaylon Smith written all over him. Hoping Marist wins a starting job at either the will or the mike with Sanborn.
-Didn't Bland play both in that year where he got all those picks? I agree, better on the outside and would like to see Thomas as our slot
-Keep an eye out on the Syracuse undrafted player we signed, used the most money on him, like they did with Ford last season.

I share your position group concerns. RBs, DTs, LBs and CBs…And trust me if we can see the problems from the distance we sit from the team, they are real concerns.

My sincere hope is this front office stops using hope as a roster building strategy. Because using hope as a strategy is how you get a wake up call later that your roster isn’t built for the playoffs.
We all know they have to sign better fa's then the bottom of the barrel types. Could of easily filled some of these positions with mid-tier veterans. I do like they will play it out in camp and they rush to fill out their roster as they always do.

Season over if Dak is out again.

Grier and Milton are true scrubs.

Harbaugh brothers robbed Jerry.

It’s not too late to get a vet.

Reminds me of 2015.

Most are gonna be league min players.

The cap problem is for real.

I'd put it as

QB: Kirk Cousins part 2

RB: devoid of talent, maybe the worst RB corps in the league. Blue's the only guy I even have a little optimism for.

WR: Pickens was just what the doctor ordered. CeeDee is a star and is arguably the best Cowboys WR this side of Irvin. Down-roster is still pretty shaky.

TE: Fergy should rebound. BSF is fine as a TE2, and may be a TE1 sooner rather than later.

OL: lots of young talent, time to see if it comes together.

DE: Micah Parsons is playing like a Hall of Famer at one spot. The other spot is long on talent and short on experience... I bet you one of our 2nd rounders emerges.

DT: Osa's a quality 3T and just needs to keep doing what he's been doing. There's a black hole beside him.

LB: I think we've placed good bets. Overshown could be a star if he stays healthy. Liufau has some real potential. Sanborn is good enough to start at one spot.

CB: Diggs and Bland are both All-Pros, but their health is a question mark. Things get sketchy fast behind them.

S: we've got some decent vets. They're not flashy, but no news is good news along the last line of defense.

K: Aubrey!

P: I'm not going to lie, I had to look up who our punter was.

Coaching: LOL. Schotty would be a position coach at best for 31 other NFL teams. Eberflus has been a successful DC, but it still bothers me how he threw his players under the bus in Chicago.
