The worst team is probably the Cardinals. But the Colts are trying to catch up.The Indianapolis Colts are 3 generational QBs away from being the worse team in NFL history
But think about how lucky they’ve been:The worst team is probably the Cardinals. But the Colts are trying to catch up.
The Colts also flashed a little when they had Burt Jones, right? For the Falcons you'd have to go back to the Bartkowski days. Most teams have more than 1 moment in their history. How long have the Cardinals been around? They were pretty crappy for my entire lifetime. But think about how lucky they’ve been:
Peyton Manning 1998 to Andrew Luck 2012. What do you think of the Colts since Luck retired. What do you remember of them between Unitas and Manning? Just being mediocre in those eras was a big accomplishment. Same thing with the Saints pre/post Brees, the Falcons pre/post Ryan. Except somehow Indianapolis lucked into that 3 different times.
I believe these asterisks need to be recognized when judging the worst franchises. It’ll be a hot take, but the Patriots have historically not been well run outside of the Brady era.
