Just to clear things up, Dak really struggled last year. That happens when you’ve got a HC who doesn’t believe in the run game and when they do run they throw Zeke out there. Then there’s the fact that the only receiver who could get open was Cee Dee so he was doubled all the time. Hard to have a passing game with only 1 WR able to get open Then you have a RG who should’ve retired before the season, a RT who didn’t play up to his past standard and a revolving penalty machine at LT. Oh and a rookie at C.

Then you’ve got the defense who couldn’t get off the field most of the time and had a turnstile defense against the run so Dallas was playing from behind most of the time.

So yes Dak struggled last year for the reasons mentioned above. But the reality is, the whole team was bad hence the 7-9 record.

I expect a much better team this year. Time will tell. :starspin: :)

You started out the thread by saying that Dak struggled last year, but then you spent the rest of your post making excuses.

Just say he struggled and leave it at that. We all saw the same thing last year. Regardless of the reasons, Dak sucked before the injury. He struggled - period. And to be fair, the entire team struggled with him.

What are the rules here? Can you use the same excuses this season or will you have to come up with all new ones?

Not excuses. Facts you can’t dispute.

You know I love ya bud, but you are not mentioning a few things: First, you have clearly stated that Dak needs to have perfection around him in order to succeed, and when that is lacking, he cannot perform. The biggest issue facing this team to this day is that teams do not fear our QB, and are more than happy to force his hand. Last year, Jerry pretty much took the trigger on Dak's abilities to succeed, and succeed he did not. This year, Jerry made some major moves to once again give Dak the arsenal he needs, so let's see where the dagger lands. Sure the D couldn't get off the field, but this was not helped by our O allowing them to do so....lots of blame to go around, but if you watched the gamds Dak was under Center like I did, you soon realizle his his horrible throws/decisions making had nothing to do with what you mentioned...it starts and finishes between his ears

No snaps during the preseason is stupid....so is not having a QB coach in his ear when we're on defense. MM really hurt and stalled Dak's play, IMO.

- Then you have a HC that was given the full reins of offense control - that did not want to involve nor scheme speedy Brandon Cooks where he best fit .
get him on the move,.. on the run , with momentum, ..instead of running him frequently on stop & comebacks .. like he's a possession WCO wide out
Totally waste of his speed & talent.

- Then there's the decliine perfomrance of TE Jake Ferguson, who actually made the Pro Bowl in 2023, but Mac scheme totally failed to scheme
and involve him in the red zone ..thus ZERO touchdowns

And then there's some major coachi staff assignments that snake bit us -ala sorry Solari as OL coach, McCarthy having an asst. OL coach as RB an run game asst.

- and you've already harped on the fiasco at RB with slow as frozen syrup Zeke Ellitott instead of Rico , and then there were times when Mac would faze out run game
and go pass frenzy, even with Cooper Rush ...

.- and to think Jerry wanted McCarthy returned as HC again, but luckily Mac turned down Jerry's new contract offer .. .we lucked out big time in that sense .. !!

I don't have much of an issue with this take....What I do have an issue with is this time last year when half the board made the exact same argument as to why this team would have its struggles we were all called haters and Eagles fans.
