Cowboys Friendliest Player Deal

So much for winning the negotiations. They have to stop doing dumb contracts.
when you want to create drama, wait until last minute, milk the marketing and media clicks, then you get Dak's contract. if you are a normal organization you get contract done before training camp and get it over with so everyone can focus on football. not one hour before the first game of the season. literally.

If he signed for 53M a year, would it make a difference to anyone in here? Those that don't like him think it's a bad contract either way. Those that do probably don't mind so much because it's only a bit over market value.

Is that worth what was paid for him? No. But no QB was worth that contract at the time, even a QB that doesn't perennially choke come big games. It's about performance/value/cost The more you pay a QB, the less you have to pay for anyone else.

Objectively it's a crappy contract.

Should have traded him after 2023…probably could have gotten two 1sts and saved over 100 million dollars for similar results.

Now his trade value is non-existent and we’re stuck with an albatross.

Why was it crappy because the notion that we didn't want to lose him, oh please! Draft another one and keep it pushing, look at San Francisco, they have purdy look where they got him

No because he would have had the greatest season in NFL history thus causing the cowboys to pay him 60 million anyways
Lol, can't believe we're both 41 but one of us sees Dak for what he is, he was never going to have a great season. You are a stats guy vs a guy that can watch all 22 and see a players true value. Dak can’t run and wasn't ever particularly good at it, he's never been a pocket guy and unfortunately had past him buy long before the last contract. I have to ask, what do you do for a living bc it seems you are always on here?

You're out your mind I've never said anything like this stay off the candy

Overpaying your QB is a perfect excuse to not participate in free agency because they can’t be bothered to learn the league.

They just want to hold the GM position to collect the rewards should things happen to go well.
