NFL Sunday Ticket options

I had no desire to get it, but I do have that best buy account so I might. Thanks
Same, no real desire or "need" since we get all but one or two Cowboy games in NM, but I do love a good deal and I'm curious what it would be like...

I got it mid season 2 years ago. It's crap compared to direct tv, IMO and twice as expensive.

Exactly. There’s no legal restriction on not allowing anyone to view the TV. You pay for the rights to it. Is it illegal to have friends over to watch the game at your house without them buying a subscription? Stop with this nonsense.
You're trying to equate different things.

Somewhere in your chain illegality is going on.

Some of us see where that's wrong and choose not to participate.

I've done my fair share in the past, but I've moved on from those kind of choices.

Watching at the bar is illegal? That’s wild.

No. And you know that's not what I said.

Try not to be purposefully obtuse.
I’m pointing out that your point isn’t valid. You can’t have one without the other. There are multiple ways to watch and stream the games that are free. That’s just a fact. Twitch steamed MNF last year. They paid for the rights to broadcast it…is it illegal for people in blackout areas to watch it? No. The point you’re making is well…pointless. There’s no way to control or regulate it when there are so many ways to watch the games legally. You’re trying to compare it to pirating movies or something and it’s just not even remotely the same.

People paid for the right to show them...that means it's not free. Someone is paying for it.

And you're paying as well being a patron and ordering something from the establishment.

This isn't that difficult.

Somewhere, someone is paying for it...IF it's legal.

There is NOT a legal way to just sit at home and enjoy whatever game you want for free. If you want to do that, then you purchase the product.

Stream East
Stream East doesn't always work though. Not for me anyway. One week it was fine, the next week, hard time connecting to find the right link. then sometimes the sound would not work. Other times it crashed during the games, and was hard to reconnect to the same link.

Same for crack streams, and a few others.

Well I am no expert, just read what I found online. If you can share, and they can connect with different IP's then more people should share, which I dont think they want .
Could look at that a different way.

Say full price is $450, you have 10 people want to get it, but that is a steep price. that would be $4,500 total.
So you get 1 of 10 buying it. That is $450. they are out $4,050 because the other 9 say screw it.

But if 4 people buy it and they split the cost, and share it with the other family members. Or some type of combination. All 10 get it, and they make $1,800.

Some people would be willing to spilt the $450 cost between 2 or 3 people.

I would pay $200, maybe even $250, but no way $450. A friend of mine was in the military, he may pay the $200, but if I were to ask him to split it, he may do that. Heck I would even consider to pay the entire $200 for him to sign up.
But I did not have it last year, and was perfectly fine without it.

Glad to know everyone that has friends over to watch the games is paying for Sunday Ticket. Lol just stop dude. Just like Twitch pays to distribute MNF but doesn’t charge for people to watch it.

Just stop.

You know we're not talking about watching at a friends (who also paid, unless illegality is involved...so not free).

Yes. Twitch pays. Not free. Someone always pays unless there is illegality involved (and sometimes then too).

Your mental gymnastics are ridiculous.

There’s nothing ridiculous about it. You just don’t like the fact I’m proving your point completely useless. Yes, someone does pay. The TV company for the rights to air it. After that, other parties try to get a piece of the pie. A group of friends getting together and watching off a buddies account is no different than someone streaming an OOM game on a website that is hosting it local. I’m sorry you can’t understand that.

You are wrong on this. Google A.I. is your friend:

Google search question:
Is it illegal to stream sports?

Answer:
Yes, streaming sports through unauthorized sources is generally illegal due to copyright infringement. Copyright law protects the rights of the content creators, and distributing or accessing copyrighted material without permission is illegal.

Why it's illegal:
  • Copyright Infringement: Sports broadcasts are copyrighted material. Websites or individuals who stream these events without authorization are violating the copyright holder's exclusive rights to distribute their work, according to the Copyright Act of 1976.
    • Public Performance: While private viewing of a stream may not be considered a public performance, watch parties or sharing streams with others could be seen as a public performance, which is a copyright violation.

Quit reading after AI bc everything else is pointless. But I’ll indulge: having friends over for a watch party is illegal per this…aka a public performance. So lock ‘em up lol it’s comical

No its not, its the difference between a public/private event. A private event at a private residence using a legal service like YoutubeTV for Sunday ticket that limits the number of streams is not going to be against the law in any form.

What becomes an issue is when this is happening at a public place. For example sports bars pay significantly more for Sunday Ticket than a typical customer. They will pay a rate that is in line with the seating capacity of the venue. I'm less familiar with what a legitimate streaming service like Twitch would pay, but I would assume they are paying on some sort of projected streamer basis? If you're hosting a public stream and not paying for the potential number of viewers that is very illegal and believe its actually been upgraded to a felony in recent years....not that the end uses have much to worry about as I'm sure leagues would go after the hosts of these streams instead if they wanted to take any legal action.

I was going off his bogus definition of public viewing.

BTW i always got the Direct tv ticket. Youtube's pricing is a joke
Not to mention that Youtube's package and presentation was inferior to DirecTV package. I didnt get Youtube last year and I am not convinced I will this year.

The fact is even your examples are paid for by someone. Which completely destroys your argument.

We all also know, despite your efforts to obfuscate the obvious, is that what we're really talking about here is watching illegal streams.

No I’m not. And again, by this definition, watching the game with a group of friends at a buddy’s house would be an illegal stream. But this conversation is really old and I’m done with it. There’s more than one way to watch a game and we will leave it at that.
