Deuce Vaughn shines during Day 1 2025 Cowboys Training Camp

Deuce Vaughn showed up for Day 1 of the Dallas Cowboys 2025 Training Camp practice. He made some nice cuts in the backfield to evade the rush while scampering around through the opening holes or around edge to outrun his opposition, some being veteran tacklers. Granted, most of his plays were against backups, but there were a few veterans mixed in.

Should Deuce Vaughn be given more opportunities in 2025, especially during camp and preseason to determine if he should make the 53 man roster?

There were a few vets on defense during some of those runs. Agreed, we need to see Deuce do that against starting defenses, but will the coaches give him a chance?

Very relevant if you notice Deuce's cuts and runs regardless who it was against.

So could KaVontae Turpin before he came to the Cowboys, yet we now see what Turpin can do when given a chance.

I watched the TC Live video, and seen his runs. They were not any better than any other RB.
Matter of fact, some comments were if they were allowed to tackled, he would have been stopped at the LOS every run.

On TC Live, Bothe Eastman and Yarrish said, they expect either Williams or Sanders to start and get the bulk of the carries.

On his runs, they said even though it looked like he took it to the House. He would have been tackled, but he like to finish it off by running down field some.

I would have started him over Dowdle last year. What did we have to lose? Dowdle had zero big play ability. At least with Vaughn anything can happen if he breaks through the line.

IDK, I want to lke Duece but from what I see he can't break a NFL tackle. More often than not, he always gets knocked backwards a yard, then tackled. I still feel he would not have been drafted by the Cowboys if it were not for the family conection to the team.

There can be some truth to it though. If deuce was this phenomenal talent he would have already been starting, especially in the first half of last season when the running game was horrible. I really think he has just reached his ceiling personally.

I will take their word over some random internet guy watching videos. When Batman and Yarraish were actually there and are involved every day with the team and any news.

Depends on which ex-players you are talking about. Even the bad ones are going to know the game better than Eatman and Yarrish.

We had lots to lose at the time, and in the end we lost a good RB for nothing. Are you suggesting that Deuce would have rushed for over 1,000 yards and over 4 yards per carry? One can argue it would have been nice to see more of Deuce, but as a feature back? C'mon man, Deuce can't see to get out of the backfield

The OL dictates a lot for a RB. I'm just saying that Deuce has bigger play ability if he breaks the line. Even out of the backfield as a receiver. Dowdle has nothing.
