Schotty was mic'd up at practice this weekend!

why has nobody commented on this? I thought it was pretty good!

Definitely brings a level of emotion/ energy to the team that wasnt really there with JG or big mike.

I hope the same attitude is there after the first four weeks of the regular season.

How inspiring will this sound with a potential 1-3 start. I'm not predicting that particular outcome, I'm thinking this philosophy only works when the team is winning.

How do they act towards a more challenging start to their season. Does Schotty maintain his "fun" demeanor?

This is a different time from the Landry/Parcells type head coaches. If this is the style of coaching that gets teams to the Super Bowl in today's world, then, great. I guess we'll find out.

I dunno, all the clips I have seen have been about them having fun, riding broomsticks, etc. Will this work? If they win, sure. If not? Well, ya know.

Being genuine doesn’t backfire. It seems clear that this is who the coach is, and the players like it because it’s honest and real. It’s a whole different story if it’s fake. Most of these players knew Schotty before this, so they already knew his communication skills and energy, though tempered by a different role. Winning or losing, staying the same by being your genuine self doesn’t backfire.

Coach definitely has more energy than the last two coaches.

Not sure if that will translate to wins of course, but at least it's something different.
100% agree. Great to see the energy and players seem to have bought in, which means they believe he is authentic. I need to see how he and the team responds after a tough loss.

I certainly like to see an energetic, enthusiastic coach out there running. It’s just gives a more up temp vibe to the practice.

It certainly can’t hurt

You wonder if the Steelers would be the team of the 70s if Schottenheimer was around then.
LOL....There is no coach or team like the 70s. I was born in the 60s and have seen the the changes of the decades. Be real with the times my man.
