Steelers: The defensive line potentially took a big hit when rookie first-rounder Derrick Harmon was carted off the field with a knee injury and quickly ruled out. At halftime, coach Mike Tomlin said the defensive end was "being evaluated." The Steelers already lost some depth there during training camp when veteran Dean Lowry suffered an ACL tear. It could mean the Steelers will be in the market for a veteran trade option or a cut-down day addition. -- Brooke Pryor

I get to not over practice/over play players, but this is a contact sport. Players can blow their knee or ACL in practice, and I know a good amount think players don't practice enough already-leading to injuries.

Getting injured in PS is no different than when the pads come on in TC.

agreed, no point in "protecting" starters from any action in PS when they could get the exact same injury on the first snap of game 1

Maybe this is why you don't play in pre-season games that mean nothing to starters.

the most successful teams play their starters at least some in the preseason

you operate scared means you never will win it all

Cowboys of the last 30 years show that

Here's your chance Jerry trade them Parsons and Prescott for 2 number ones and 2 number twos.

Irrelevant. Players get hurt outside of games all the time.

Diggs and Sam come to mind as recent examples. Both hurt in practice. Both missed a year as a result.

It happens.
