oh, because I thought only real dids kept their players. Froj the comment I was responding to, it stated we do not keep our top players. BY the way, Ed Werder made it clear, Dak wanted to play on the franchise tag and then be 100% in control to be able to force Jerry's hand. If Josh Allen or Mahomes, or Jow Burrow wanted to do that, they could do it as well.
Players don’t want to play on the tag because of the risk and lack of security. Dak always bet on himself and it paid off for him. We generally keep our star players. That’s not been the issue. The dragging out solely for the drama is the issue. And it’s cost him more everytime

Handle internally...yeah, right. I'd be so scared of Schotty.

And anyway, how is this much different than our starters laughing on the sideline during a loss in the REGULAR SEASON?

The paying after they are gone is just the standard today. Every team does it because they know where the cap will be then. But it’s a choice, and you decide to take the hit when you want. But playing on the 5th year option and tagging twice is definitely more money over 3 years and that last year is a massive cap hit
They do it to free up money now to spend and to win now. Jerry does not do that. No point.

2025 Cowboy preseason:

One star sleeps.
One star horses around.
One star dresses for fishing (but at least he's following the game and helping teammates.)

See. This is what bothers me.

Tell me how Micah who was in the 99th percentile in college at stopping the run, comes to Dallas and sucks at it?

Is it Micah? Or is this team refusing to use him the way he should be ??
Easy answer. He played LB in college. Playing downhill he is a beast vs the run. Playing DE he is terrible vs the run.

Yes, Micah should be playing LB.

Just looks bad.......no other way to put it. IF you want to be the highest non-QB player in the league, you have to know eyes are ALWAYS on you. Here is my fear.......there is an old saying, money doesn't change a person. Only brings out MORE of your true character.
Right after the season, he talked about this now being his team and how he has to show more leadership. Well, so far, he is struggling ........not setting good examples or showing maturity.
Agreed……stretched out taking a nap on the training table during a live game is highly disrespectful to his teammates and the game.

I don't even have to diss on Micah as a person or a player. And I'll even go as far to say that for Micah it would be in his best interest to go to another team. The Cowboys would simply be better off trading him, stock up on draft capital and focus on building quality depth (2nd/3rd round type players) and reverse the trend of being too top heavy on their salary cap.

The point Jerry is making is he does not care what Micah or his Agent want. He makes all the decisions and they are at his mercy.

They would be better of apologizing. :omg:

Not really...that's just theatre talk. But I'm not suggesting the Joneses are smart/clever enough to turn this into a Herschel Walker type of trade. I could only dream of that.

Jerry is accused of botching Dak... Dak simply didnt want to sign. You cant put a gun to a players head and force him to sign. This was the first time Ive heard a reporter come straight out and say what Dak did.
