I understand what you're saying, but Micah isn't just a football player... Micah is a generational player who doesn't just grow on trees.

You named Lawrence whose not in his prime and went to Seattle. Then you've named a "past his prime" Emmitt Smith who went to the Cardinals. Neither one of them at their time of leaving Dallas was even close to the talented player Parsons currently is and Parsons isn't even in his full prime yet.

Without Micah Parsons, this defense is average at best. You think stopping the run is our problem.... watch what happens when our defense cant get pressure on opposing quarterbacks in passing situations. Keep thinking that Parsons is "just another player".
Please quote me where I said anything remotely close to Michael is "Just another player."

Players being in or out of their prime is irrelevant to me. I am and will always be team, team, team. Did Michael look like he really cares anything about the team during this last pre season game?

It’s bittersweet. Not all the way through it, but it reinforces how special that group was.

After the rough 80’s, the 90’s were beyond special.

100% focus on dedication and winning and dominating.

Tiers above and rarified air of where we were and where other teams will maybe sniff or even dream of.

Over the years, we’ve heard Emmitt being minimized by the line or Troy wasn’t that special or Haley wasn’t all that or blah blah blah.

This group really showed you that was all nonsense! They dominated with a dynasty and rings! These players are arguably the best to ever play their positions!

Now, you got guys who can barely win a playoff game every three years.

It’s like Mount Rushmore vs. a child’s diorama.

That era was glorious!

Go Cowboys!
they worked hard to be the best they could be,and it showed in big games.
Jimmy was a great speech maker and motivator, like guaranteeing a win against SF.
They could have won 5 in a row if jerry could have controlled his ego.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to sign. He wanted to be paid and he was willing to bet on himself. He would have signed sooner had Jerry made an acceptable offer and it would have ended up being cheaper
The myth that just will not die.

Dak turned down two offers that would have made him the second highest paid QB in history. Both very acceptable offers. One made the minute league rules allowed negotiations with a player on a rookie contract and the other the following season before Dak chose to sign the tag.

Not using the non-exclusive tag on Dak to let the league determine the market for him was one of Jerry's biggest blunders.

I don't know the exact rules. Is Jerry forbidden to talk contract with Parsons?
NO... People are trying to twist it whether it's intentional or not they're interpreting it that way and it's not what it interprets as they're not allowed to come to an agreement or blackmail strong arm a player into getting rid of or bypassing an agent but they're allowed to discuss contracts with their contracted players...

I don't see how they can come to any other conclusion except for as long as you're not making forcing a player to sign a deal that was not looked over and approved by his representation it is not illegal in any way shape or form..

Jerry has dealt with agents since he's been here since 1989 he's come to these agreements old school verbally with a player before they bring it to an agent and then the agent either approves it makes changes and then they negotiate He never said they had a concrete deal they never said we had a deal completed but a contract in principle is just getting the basics talked about generalizing and what not..

I don't see how an owner of a team that has a bunch of players under contract can't go to a player and say this is what we were thinking offering what do you think about that Asking them what's in their mind if they don't wanna talk about it they should just say so I believe Prescott did that says look I just talked to my agent and get this resolved and they eventually did they always go through the agent if there's an agent involved they just do it later in the process and it feels wrong to some people but this is not criminal law this isn't where you're representative and now the DA or a judge force you to answer questions without your representation there that's illegal...

This is not criminal law it is not even civil law we're not in a court.... Yes it would be very illegal for Jerry to say you know what unless you represent yourself we're not giving you a deal you will not be a cowboy if you choose to have an agent..

I think in this case it got ugly because Jerry and David did not get along he probably doesn't love dealing with agents but he does it because it's part of the job but he hates this particular agent and doesn't want to deal with him..

An easy way around this they have intermediaries they already talked about that help them with cap that helps them with contracts they can use Will Mcclay and Steven Jones when they finally want to sit down in a room Jerry doesn't have to be there He could be on Zoom or he can he can be on the phone and talking to one of his people instead of David And then they can get the deal done.

Or Parsons themselves can see the problem like T Higgins did not like David and he got another agent and immediately within 48 hours had a new deal or whatever it was he got a new deal out of it it was a big deal he's the highest paid backup wide receiver he didn't need David's services..

Egos are clashing here we know it Both sides are looking bad in public this is all becoming just ridiculous They're all equally responsible and as a fan we're all tired of it just get something done soon by Thursday and let's just play some football....

I don't know the exact rules. Is Jerry forbidden to talk contract with Parsons?
Long time ago under a different CBA but it definitely not unheard of. I guarantee Jerry has done similar with every big contract he has given. Why it's only now become an issue is anybody's guess.

#TeamMicah

I've been a die-hard supporter of this team for about 50 years now. And at times I love me some Jerry Jones. But that love and support has faded rapidly. He doesn't honor every contract he signs so why should players? I know he's getting old, so I have to keep that in mind, but his constant need to be in front of the camera and seeming to care more about the image and profit of the team over success, leads me to root against him (not the team) in this particular case.

GO COWBOYS! 12-5 NFCE Champs

COWBOYS 34 PHILTHY 27
Well I dont think the cowboys can get ready for the eagles , maybe the 2nd game in arlington.
If they can score a lot like 34 or more, and avoid the turnovers, they might have a chance to win this game.
Odds are against it , which is why I put my money on phil to win by 7 or more. Just bet chance that happens than dallas winning.
This is shottys first game as HC, and he has to play the SB champ at their home !! lol it doesnt get harder than that, for a new HC.
then throw in the parsons jerry soap opera and it is just too much.
If parsons is signed before game, he wont be ready to play, but that would help if it happens.

Signing Micah now makes him much cheaper this year and next, freeing up millions. But Jerry is not a big gambler when it comes to FA. He’s been burned and he can’t get past that
Freeing millions for Jerry to then do nothing with it in FA year after year?

So there is no point in it. Maybe Jerry has been saving these Millions over the years just for this point in time to tag Micah.

did you not read? it made no difference when or what Jerry did... Dak did exactly what Dak was going to do, no matter what Jerry did.
Sure he did at the end. But the bigger point is we knew Prescott was our guy much earlier on. We could have secured him for much less . Waiting only cost us more.

Yea, the bigger story is can we avoid starting 0-2 at home against the Jints. Let’s hope they haven’t passed us by.

Fortunately our schedule early in season is more favorable with several winnable games against NYG, Chi, Jets and Car. Once we get into Nov we have stretch with 6 straight playoff teams from last year.

Without a stronger start it could be over early for us. The good news is we have never had a losing record when Prescott is healthy but how likely is he going to last the full season if we are behind in games and can’t run the ball.

Yea, we’ll find out how much the league appreciates his talent level.
Oh, I'm sure there are a number of teams who would love to have him on their team. JJ should get busy and move this guy because he's turned into a cancer on this team with his contract demands.

Maybe our owner is the cancer?

I am a fan of this team since 1976. Key word is the team... not the player. Dont get me wrong, I still pop out jerseys to wear when I go to the games, I love the player on our team that helps us win. Whats that guy's name... Michael Lawrence that went to Seattle....... dont give one damn about him. Emmitt Smith in Arizona... dont care about him.

So watching this Parsons thing play out and with the season right around the corner, how many of you are reaching the point where you just dont care anymore what happens with the guy?

I am 55 years old and I absolutely love the NFL. I play in 4 fantasy leagues (one is a family league with relatives on both coasts and includes 3 of my 4 daughters, my wife, son-in-law, and 2 cousins on the east coast and a couple of friends.... including that 4th daughters ex boyfriend) I will attend the home opener, the GB game 2 eeks later, and the Broncos game a month later. Sundays come around and I am in my movie room all day watching multiple games and soaking all the NGL glory in. I love it.

That being said, I am well aware that this team is much better with Michael Parsons than without. I wish he was signed and playing... well, when his back is well enough to play :lmao:. But, I did predict this was going to happen last year during the cee dee situation. I said then, if you think this is bad with CeeDee, just wait till Parsons time comes. Well, its here. Look at him last night lying on the trainers table, no jersey, pouting like a baby that isnt currently under contract and scheduled to make a hefty salary this year. So with the season about to start, what are your feelings heading into the season.

1) You are like me. I simply dont care. If he wants to play, play. If he wants to hold in, or out, or up or down... just do it from home. Because I want Winners! The season is starting, and I will enjoy it with or without the player.

2) how many of you just will not enjoy the games due to this contract situation. I will absolutely drive you nuts as you have to hear for the 20th time during the broadcast next week, how much the Cowboys defense is missing Michael?

Please give your thoughts. :muttley:
Team first.

Jerry is very scared of free agency. But we draft fairly well and freeing money slows you to keep the goid players you draft

I have not really cared since Jerry signed Dak to that stupid contract!! That was the last straw to me being emotionally invested in this team. I will still root for them every Sunday but Jerry earned every loss. Fans don't deserve this crap!
